Photos & Bicycle Builds

Pictures of motorized bike projects and bike builds. Vote for the best build!
Hey guys, I'm in the preliminary stage of building my first bike, so I thought in the meantime I'd entertain myself by asking for pictures of your awesome bikes :). I've already seen some cool stuff in my short time on this forum, but nowhere have I seen a thread devoted to pictures of your delicious machines! Let's see what you're riding :)! (also, if I missed a thread like this, please point me in the right direction.)‎
Thanks for the great welcome to a new member. I am attaching photos of a "Zipcycle" , a series of string-trimmer bikes that we built a few years (1994-2004) ago. They were all powered by Homelite (25cc.) string trimmers with a friction roller drive. Now that I am retired I have time to play with a few variations, and I present the first Zipcycle with sidecar, inspired by the recent forum photos of a sidecar for the powered bike. Just a frame now, I plan to add a vintage-appearing body. Notes on sidecar handling: Since I am not exactly a spring chicken, I took it very carefully at first. I went to a local school parking lot,(summer, so it was empty) and practiced first left-hand turns and then right hand turns. I kept increasing...
this bike has been in here before, but l have updated alot of stuff on it. new frame thunder pipe exhaust (loud) skull pro grips (wider) 48t and 36t sprokets new motor mount (thers is a difference) welded a new cap and bung Alot of work went into the upgrades, but the time was well worth it. this thing will haul ass with the 36t sproket and pull my 2 girls in a tailer with the 48t sproket. it has 225 miles on it and will be riding in the Death Race 2007 . thanks to azkronic for all the help!!!!
Well I finaly Have the Felt MP for my Proto Type that I have been waiting for for nearly two and a half months for it to get here. It is no longer built with aluminum so a Frame tank is out. I will not be proceeding with the build untill after the holidays but the front wheel is off to the bike shop for a drum brake. And if you have not guessed this already this bike will be built with the 4G T Belt Drive that was in my previous videos. Here are a few pic's for now this lighting Kit will not be avalible untill it is proven. Gas powered bicycles are ilegal here in Canada so that is why this Proto Type is going to be a Limited Speed Motorcycle and will be registred licenced and insured. Oh and I forgot the mention This Is My First Build...
I got bored so I rebuilt the death trap... here is the new and improved red barron. Most notable improvements include a brand new Grubee 66cc engine, kill switch delete w/new grips, sick bikes front mount, sick bikes expansion chamber, an HD flywheel from sick bikes, an 11 tooth sbk sprocket for the jackshaft, and a better fuel tank mounting arrangement that allows me to lower my seat to a comfortable position. My comments on the new sick bike parts... the expansion chamber is AWESOME!!!! It lets you rev a couple thousand higher in the rpm range giving you access to the additional torque. The only thing I can compare it to is real 3 lobe Honda vtec, ( as in an rsx type s or 99 civic si). If you add the nuvinci hub, 11 tooth sprocket...
OK, I was supposed to post these a long time ago, but I kept thinking I would wash my bike first. Well, now it's kind of clean. I washed it, but then I drove it to the beach again. Anyway, here is what it looks like now. Side view Custom exhaust made from two shower head extensions from Ace Hardware. Giant 60 tooth sprocket up front and 30 tooth in the back to get the chain to go over and under the motor, instead of mounting the motor above the chain.
took for second test ride so far so good went with the smaller rear tire but have since read blazes post so may go with fatter tire later ( had to get in the wind since ratfink bike broke apart still working on that to went with a gas tank instead of trying to use the top tube for a tank it just doesnt look like it would hold a lot of gas besides i like these little tanks anyway to late for the bike of the month maybe next month haha! on my trip to starbucks the sheriff pulls up they go in get a cup of coffee come back out stare at my bike for like 30 seconds turns to me and says tricked out bike dude and off they went cool any way enjoy the photos i only have a phone camera so pics could be better...
Since my XR75 is pretty much complete and as reliable as I could ever wish for I was getting bored and decided to build another bike. I had a Staton Friction kit that was still new in the box for a few months since I hadn't had the chance to install it on the little ladies bike and it was just screaming at me whenever I walked by it. So I bought a NEXT Mountain Ridge full suspension MTB with front disc to throw it on. My focus on this build is going to be simplicity and light weight since my other bike is a tank and I don't trust my trunk rack to bring it anywhere. I plan on taking this one around with me for fun and hopefully so I can get some people test riding and buying some. She's a really fun ride. I'm probably going to paint...
Hi all, srdavo asked that I open up the "Motocycle" Yahoo Group photo archives for our members to view. Unfortunately, Yahoo has changed the settings options, and photo archives cannot be made open to non-members anymore. As that group's Administrator, I've changed the settings to make it easier to join and then view the photos. Originally, memberships had to be approved by myself or another moderator. Now, membership is open, but new member's first posts will be moderated. There are a lot of really neat builds in the photos section, so why not stop by and have a look? http://sports.groups.yahoo.com/group/motocycle/
