Here's my latest incarnation. Swapped the Subaru Robin EH035 engine for the 97cc Lifan 2.5 HP engine on the downhill MTB. It runs out strong & has more power everywhere. Too bad its over the cc & hp limit of State MB laws. As long as I keep it under 30 & pedal along in high gear, I might fly under the radar. Anybody know of a good looking readily available 49cc replacement sticker? -Lowracer-
last try got deleted ??? one more time... (pics are at the 'other' place I am known to be :)) a few people have asked for pics of my not-finished-yet stretch the bike is a Micargi Mustang GTS (x-mas present) I am still mid build and am waiting for an in-frame tank---azvinnie (my son-in-law) is making it (his first time making one) the tape is to protect paint during tank fitting I have a budget of 0$, so am making it with what I have available (I sold a back wheel and other parts to finance the sprocket/adapter I got from Jim -- thanks Elmo) I am doing a lot of measuring to get everything ready for the drive train swap from my Jaguar (I need a bike Mon-Fri to take oldest grandkid to school, so I need to be up n running...
This is a bicycle I have owned for many years. I just thought it was one of the nicest bikes Schwinn put out. This will be the third motor I have put on it. Electric, then a MX-5 and now a new Whizzer engine. This engine was modified by a pretty sharp fellow named Quention of Whizzer Outer Banks, North Carolina It has a redesigned high compression head, high lift cam, ported and relieved and a larger 26mm carb. The wheels have been relaced using Whizzer spokes, hubs and brakes but retaining the Black Phantom Rims. I wanted to keep the Black Phantom Bicycle look and that's the reason for the gas tank under the seat. Even with the mods done to the engine it starts very easy, runs and idles...
80 c.c. 2 stroke, custom exhaust,(cut up & welded back together) modified muffler, modified engine mount (i used barry's mount off e-bay, but modified it a little), custom gas tank from a jesse james chopper bicycle, all seams, holes & gaps welded closed, fuel pipes added to both sides, smoothed out with bondo, custom metallic black laquer and clear coat, custom made vented gas cap, clear fuel lines with an in line filter, and in line shut off valve. I painted the cylinder with gloss black hi-temp engine enamel, polished the side covers on the engine, made a chrome stack for the carb. and used the stock filter element inside of it. shortened the throttle and clutch cables, made my own hidden chain tensioner, modified the rear brake...
My motor is finally purchased...i went with the pre sale option at $109 ,delivery im not sure when will take place..This will be somewhat of a slow build as im only expecting to invest so much per month towards the build and im in no hurry anyways..lol You can find this particular motor and alot more sold through ZedaMotorsports.com Expect lots of before and after pics of the build. Ill start with bottom end and show more as it happens. So, heres the game plan for the bottom end build...To start, the motor will be taken apart and inspected prior to the changes and thoroughly cleaned. (Bottom end) 1. Balanced crank (Zeda factory) 2. Lightened rod and pin 4 RB Tech 6202 2RS C3 (ABEC 3) premium crank and clutch bearings. 4. Upgrade...
This build was originally going to be a 212cc Predator with GTC TC1002P torque converter but when all the parts were here it looked to be way to big so I exchanged the 212 for 79cc. I went with Quentons special Q-matic for the 79cc Pred from E-Z Motoribikes. The engine shaft is a bit too long for the thin profile cover (which is good) so I just cut a hole for it but you could cut 1/2" off the end of the shaft. The bike is a 29" Macargi Fatal Love I put a pair of caliper brakes on to help the coaster brake and of course HD tubes and liners in each wheel. The engine mount base and wide cranks were left over from a 49cc HS jackshaft shift kit build. By leaving the engines mounting plate off the engine it mounted to the plates front...

here is my build thread on my schwinn chopper. I recently received this when I was around 11, I stored it for around 5-6 years and when I was 18 I thought it would be cool to put a go kart engine on it because I wanted to go fast. so I bought a 5.5Hp go kart engine and found out the hard way that it wasnt going to fit, so we cut out the bottom beam and replaced it with two pieces of c-channel and lowered it about 2 inches. so the engine fits perfect. then we installed the clutch. we took the rear wheel and installed a big sprocket on it for high speed crusing and soon found out that the bearings were shot in the rear wheel. I then took the axel out and made my own(which is still under development and I probably will just get a stock...
Well my parts from bird dog dist came today. Grubee One gallon gas tank, center mount two leg kick stand and the Grubee HD axle ,freewheel sprocket and brake. Got the tanks mounted[Ilike the bigger size], kick stand monted and have been tinkering with the HD axle kit:confused:. No instructions at all. Bird dog said to look on the Grubee-Inc.com site for instructions.:confused::confused:. The freewheel has two spanner holes. The picture shows the holes on the outside. Tried it---didn't work freewheeled backwards. took it off and flipped it over. It works BUT now the spanner holes are on the inside with little room to get to the spanner holes for removal :geek: The instructions concerning the brake drum is even more strange...
This bike is a project/ordeal I started about 6 months ago. Originally a 2012 Felt MP beach cruiser , this bike had the gas motor installed and a few months later the electric hub was installed. Bike is capable of operating by pedal, gas or electric or all three at once. The electric hub provides the torque and the gas motor provides the top end speed. A 50 tooth rear sprocket gives the gas motor a top speed of 35-40mph with a 200 pound man in the seat on level terrain. Top speed for the electric hub alone is 25-30mph. When both motors are used simultaneously, it is capable of climbing the steepest hills without pedaling and able to pull away from a dead stop at car speeds. I wish the gas engine fully recharged the batteries on the fly...
OK, here is the internet debut of this rare Motorbike. This bike is unrestored and is in as found condition after being stored for over 70 years. Built in Illinois by the Anthony Manufacturing Co. in 1935 as a prototype using the British Cyc-Auto 98cc 2 cycle motor. Pedal to start. They built 2 of these bikes, one mans and one womans but they never put them into production because the company (Cyc-Auto) that was to provide the motors was sold in 1936 to the British Scott Motorcycle Co. It seems the Scott Motorcycle Co. was not interested in selling motors to the American based Anthony Mfg. Company. A bit of history: Cyc-Auto is credited with being the company which started the Auto Cycles (what motorized bicycles were called...
Finished another one Saturday PM 3/8/08 80cc HT. Only put 2 miles on it. Too early to tell what bugs I need to work out. Special features are toggled kill switch from blue wire (not shorting magneto) Added front caliper brake. Added tail light, blinkers, brake light. (not professional quality, purchased from ebay. Work great though) 64 spoke wheels. Horn, 72 LED headlight. Wireless speedometer, mirror, clutch lever roller modification (designed by Large Filipino) bearing chain tensioner from dax. Quality plug wire and boot. 19 hrs. labor. 10th build, they get easier the more I do. Please everyone, keep building and saturate the market to responsible riders. We need "power" in numbers. Its the way of the future. graucho
