Dax motor, two years old, has plenty of miles, mounted on a Trek 930, which was my wedding present back in 1990 from my wife. The bike had a ton of miles put on it in the mountains before the motor, wore through a bottom bracket, a derallieur and even a metal water bottle cage. Then I put a motor on it.... I have been wailing around on this thing, and have completely freaked out all the SUV drivers. The bike now has a sticker on the rack "One Less SUV"... So far, I'm the only one around here with this. I have seen one rear mounted weed wacker rig, but that was awhile ago. I must say though that having a motor on my bike has made me a better city rider. You have a bit more negotiating power. Top speed is maybe 30. Maybe 35. At...
Hey all, well after a "technical difficulty" with my bike, I decided yesterday morning to rebuilt my ride in a different frame. Its based around a mountain bike with all of the extra's. 66cc Motor HD gold chain to a alloy 36 tooth rear sprocket. The upgraded performance carb, which is basically a scooter carb. Pocketbike expansion exhaust, wrapped. Kart fuel filter and lines. 12V system with red LED downlight for a tail light, and 5W cree LED downlight as the headlight. And a scooter horn using the throttle kill switch button to sound. I had a old schwinn webspring springer seat which I tore the side off just collecting dust. It was too good the throw away, and a Gel seat I replaced it with. So I thought I wonder if you...
New 5.5 cc competition center fire Fred head 40 tooth CNC sprocket The NGk spark plug we are originally running is to the right and the new NGK spark plug thats required for the Fed head is to the left a lot smaller. Will be posting pictures of the final look stay tuned
I decided to upgrade my batteries from 7ah to 22ah. So I had to remove the ammo cans (which I really liked) to install the saddle bags. Had to get more space for bigger batteries . . . These saddle bags I got are totally sweeet tho . . . I found them on Ebay brand new I think I paid $40 including shipping. . . Whatcha Think?

Just thought I'd show some updated photos since I've made some changes. Put on the springer forks with chrome headlight & had it pinstriped over the weekend. Also put on an old license plate. It's my version of a fake whizzer, it's a fizzer, ha ha!!
I posted this bike last year when it was all electric. Added gas but also wanted to keep the electric, and have it even more functional. Now has regenerative charging of the battery when running on gas, can run on gas, electric, pedal, or any combination. With both gas and electric I even have both front and rear wheel drive (only one rear wheel is driven). I really don't know if it would make it, but it should go pretty close to 55 or sixty. It turns 1560 rpm at 30 mph. Worksman Mover 26" bike with rear box to hold the battery and my ice chest Predator 212cc with Stage 1 improvements Comet TAV2 torque converter Custom jackshaft and sprockets/chains (shown in picture) Front and rear lights, brake lights, turn signals
Its been some time since i've posted. Wanted to say "what's up!" to the MB RIDERs and post some new pics. 700+ miles in, running HONDA Syn-blend oil and no major issues. I love this thing. I'm between building another with the same kit or going EZM... Decisions, desicions. Thx.
Hello everyone, I haven't been on this forum in ages! I sold my last motor bike and now I'm building a new one! It's a 26" Schwinn Sanctuary beach cruiser similar to my previous one with some differences including color! I have a 66cc motor kit on the way which I will be using upgrade performance parts later on in the future! I will once again be using an "arch style"chain tensioner to keep that cheap Chinese idler out of my beautiful spokes! see the included pictures, I am not a newbie to building these, I do however like suggestions or comments. I will be replacing the Chinese 415 chain with number 41 roller chain from fleet farm. I have the grips removed and the fender chopped out to accommodate the drive chain. I will post another...
:) Hello All, I really had to rebuild my truck engine, so I haven't been able to work on the Flyer. Now that's all done here is the latest....fake gas tank is fiberglassed, Piaa light has been rebuilt, frame has been primed, and a local friend with a body shop supplied the black paint. Total cost so far...$175.00. motor, Comet clutch, all the rest was free. Now how to make it compete with the beautiful bikes that are on this site, I'll see what I can do, I hope I don't let anybody down. Scrollerguy
It isn't the prettiest bike out there, far from it, in fact. But it is pretty cool, in a utilitarian sort of way. It's got the good old china girl, in addition, that's a 500 watt hub motor up in front, running off a 10Ah, 10S2P lipo pack. It works well, and with both wheels driven, it's got gobs of traction! And the electric motor makes it easy to start the gas engine. I put lights and even turn signals on it, there are little bullet led blinkers in the handlebars!
First post but ello from wales.U.K. Here's where im at right now with my ratter. Any other members over here? :) my first motorised build but not new to the custom bike world :) Driven sprocket upgrade and a new air filter in the next couple of days. What does everyone think? Clocking high 30s mph on the flat :) running a 46t. 32t on the way. Cheers. Jake
