4-Stroke Frame-Mount Kit, Problems & Questions

With the one piece engine mount that came with my 4-cycle frame mount kit, after mounting on the seat down tube first, there's about a one inch gap between the engine mount's front and the tube. The two brackets that came with it are identical and don't allow for any curvature of the frame, which is needed at the front but not necessarily at the back. I've seen a pic of the same engine mount on bicycle-engines.com but it has another piece to it and looks very adjustable. Their's looks like the same engine but mine is just the one piece mount. Should I drill a hole in my frame and mount one long, strong bolt thru the mount at the front and would it be sturdy enough using 2 or 4 bolts at the rear? I guess the 4-cycle mounts are somewhat different than the 2-cycle ones. My bike is a new Schwinn Point Beach cruiser. Pretty much the same frame style as a million other cruisers.

For anyone thinking of putting a frame mount engine on a new model Schwinn cruiser bike, the one piece motor mount is actually about 2 inches too short, not just one inch like I earlier stated. You'll have to get the 2 piece adjustable motor mount. You might ask the dealer which one is included since most pics are thumbnail size and you can't tell. I actually did ask that question but never got a reply, so here I am with a mount that won't work. And BEWARE BEWARE buying anything from revolutioncycles.us. It is almost guaranteed to be a bad experience. Once he gets your money, that's it.

if you had read the post warning about him, (black hat warning, in intro) you wouldn't have spent your hard earned cash
I feel for you, but...
caveat emptor

ps. I don't think nuch of your attitude dude, you jump in here telling us how we should do things, when we (not you) have put in a lot of effort getting to where we are

Help needed with kill switch

My HuangSheng 4stroke is ready. Only thing to do id start it and wire up the 2 wires from the throttle mounted kill switch. Please can someone tell me how to do this?
Do I take the wires to the on/off switch on front of engine & what do I do with the 2 wires from the throttle switch?
Many thanks to anyone who can help.

Grubee Bike Frame.jpgYes Highwayman, you can sort of see from the size of it that it wouldn't fit. No classic cruiser frame would fit that mounting tray. The adjustable one is made so it specifically fits the classic cruiser cos those frames take the engine really well even though you need more chain length for them. I'd recommend staying with the cruiser cos it's a nice bike to ride and getting an extra section welded into the middle so you can use the end pieces that are already made to fit the downtube and seat post tube. There are some great Felt cruisers but I think they have problems allowing the engine to fit under the top tube. Only a few frames can fit these motors and some are so nearly perfect but 2mm too small and therefore no good. You could maybe just order an adjustable tray from bicycle-engines.com and if you live in the USA the transport costs will be reasonable. That might well be the cheapest solution. To set up a cruiser frame really nicely you really need high rise bars and that will invove replacing the brake and gear cables. There is always a lot of expense. The picture below shows a chinese cruiser frame made by Grubee specially for the 4-strokes and would probably fit your tray. They say they have v brakes front and rear PLUS a rear drum brake but the picture shows no rear v-brake. They also have front hydraulic forks. They are a direct copy of the old classic cruiser frame but the lines are all wrong and the whole design is actually rather horrid. If they sell for about US$210 they would be probably worth it but anymore than that and I'd not bother with them. The Schwinn cruiser quality has plumeted in recent years and they are now overpriced in comparison to the reliable brands.

Here are a couple of pics of the same adjustable mounting plate bicycles-engines sells (though I did not get mine there). My bike which is a classic cruiser type frame, but mine is a Huffy from the mid '90s.

You can probably see it better in the second pic which is what the bike looked like last fall.

the engine wires just circuit through the button and to ground. I do not recommend using the kill switch. Use the choke to test for intake leaks every time you shut off your motor.
