beautiful setup, and love the fuel tank setup, great start, keep it going man.

Yep,by all means keep us up to date...nothing like a running/roving report.
Don't forget those teflon engine mounts...i'm hoping for a lot from them.

Nice Cleveland Welding Bike!!! One of my favorite manufacturers- You may want to find a spring supply place and replace the stock fork springs with heavier rate units as the stock ones may be a bit mushy under motor power. Perhaps not with the Happy time engine, but I've found that under engine speed, and in cornering, they will cause the fork to chatter and hop a bit... Please keep us updated it's a beautiful ride man!!!

Yes Uncle
I gave that some thought I have a set of heavier springs to use but I want to see how well the OG springs perform before I make the swap.
You dont happen to have a CW chainguard that would fit this frame would you?

Chris

I'm wondering how you will mount the front of the motor to the downtube. I have the same problem with my Schwinn cruiser.

Two things:
First- Unfortunately I don't have a chaingaurd for ya'... My stock of old parts is low currently...

Second- Please, PLEASE do not drill a hole in the down tube. Not so much because it's a classic bike, but because it is unsafe to do this type mod. What I did was to take some flat stock hot rolled mild steel, bend a 'u' shap with the inside radius and such the same as the o.d. of the downtube. I cut it to length to meet the motor mount. I then welded a 'tab' on either side of the 'U' and drilled to match the bolt holes. after all was tried, dry fit, etc. I welded it to the down tube. This is on a '63 Schwinn Typhoon, but the basic concept is the same and a much better alternative... Also brazing is the best way to weld/attach this piece. Just, you know, my 2 cents worth in trying to help. Take it or leave it... :)
P.S. these pics are from my first attempt and some of it doesn't follow what I learned from doing this and have described/explained above... Also the one shown is the same, but is on the top tube for a gas tank I had that was different that the ones from the kits. Again though it's the same and the same concept...
