Sprockets 36T sprocket and heavy riders

I haven't even tried the 44 yet. The first kit was a cheapo ebay kit from boygofast. His sprocket is advertised as 44, but i counted the teeth and there are 50. The top speed was 23 mph. At that speed it sounded like the engine was going to explode. I can't wait till I try the 44. My dax kit should be here in about 2 weeks

LOL.

I have a boygofast kit and weigh around 230... she sure does scream. :)

The dax kit doesn't look to be any different tho - are you building a second bike or are you simply dissatisfied with the boygofast kit?

I think the only way to reliably make the kind of power that I want is a NOS kit. I dunno if I have the cajones to pull the trigger tho.

stud broke off in the motor. I tried getting it out with an easy out with no success. I ended up selling the motor to pay rent. I was unemployed at the time.

I am considering purchasing the 36T sprocket. My bike has 26" wheels, and I weigh 275 lbs. Will the 70CC motor produce enough power to wind out the motor and go 40-45 mph with my weight? I don't want to run that gear if I cant get the max top speed out of it. I also am concerned about it bogging real bad when im going against a strong wind. I plan on cutting out the baffle in the muffler, and running the better flowing intake. I hear that helps alot.

port out the intake, make it oval shaped, aswell as the exhast, dont try to match it to the head you,ll go right through the side of the intake.im 260 my top speed is 51kph.40mph is asking to much from a 36 tooth.wind will reduce the top speed by around 3-4 mph depending.but mine accelerats quicker in the mid rpm band from 20kph up.i also added a boost bottel, but it didnt do that much cause of the porting but some.also you can shave the cylinder 30-50 thou for more compression, but the shop around here want,s $60.

my top speed is 40ish with a 24'???? wheel (the ray in my pic) and the wind at my back. my avg is about 30 at top speed with no wind or going to the wind. mabey im backwards here, but if im doing forty now, and i downsize to 36 from 48-50 wont i be doing like 50??? if thats the case ill be racing with my 5 horse briggs on my minibike! oh, i way 205. and have a boygofast.

Eat drink and be merry

I normally weigh 230s. I'm 6' 3. I got fat after I lost my job. My biggest problem is I like to drink beer. That goes right to my gut.

There is nothing so much fun as happy times beer (home brew) and happy times motored bikes. But not at the same time.

Eat drink and be merry.Lifes too short.

Don't eat that organic stuff. It will kill you. And we all know beer is good for you. Enjoy !!
And keep the rubber side down.

Pedalling is different

I have gone at least 40 mph peddling, I am not afraid to do the same with a motor :devilish:
When you are pedalling the clutch is in and the chain won't lock up when the engine seizes. Or, on a non-motored bike, you probably won't come to grief.
Believe me if you have done thousands of miles on these motors the day comes when the engine seizes and you probably can't get the clutch in quick enough because the back wheel is locked and skidding outwards to the right and you are fighting to stay on it. It's all over in a couple of seconds.
I have had this happen although only at 15 mph and I ended up on my face in the ditch with the hot engine burning the flesh off my legs. If it had happened on the freeway 2 minutes earlier I'd have been dead. If you want speed then get a freewheel hub of some sort so you live to tell the tale of the engine seizing. At 40mph a wheel lock up would throw you off in a split second. Cycling Australia states that hitting a labrador dog at 35mph is usually a fatal accident on a bicycle. Just a warning from a cautious old cyclist.
