I'm brand new. saying hello

14 or 40 he or she better know how to ride a bicycle. Not just know how to keep from falling down. I mean REALLY know how to ride. It won't hurt if you can do tricks to your unmotored bike.
Remember to tell your siblings that the engine is there not so you can fly but it's there so your bike can pedal for you. You try to go over even 20 mph your engine is screaming. Take it easy and cruise at like 10 to 15 mph with plenty of room to stop.
Make sure you tell them too sometimes when you drop that clutch it doesn't always engage smooth. Every once in a while you let the clutch go when you start off it suddenly slows down instead of starts smooth. That happens to my bike sometimes.
Oh and watch that kickstand as well. I took mine off. It kept getting loose for some reason and it took out two of my spokes.

welcome

Thanks all. To RdKryton; that's a nice looking bike.

I don't plan to use mine like a motorcycle. Trying to go 20 mph average would be too noisy and without ever even riding a motorized bike I can tell that that would destroy my bicycle. I'm looking for nothing more than an increase in my bike's efficiency. avoiding excessive sweatiness and cutting down on the time and effort to get up the big hills. I'm sure I can trust two of my daughters to be easy on their mbs, at least with a little coaching. I am worried about my third daughter and my wife; they are not actually speed-demons but they are not very good at using their legs as shock absorbers. They don't seem to understand the concept very well and they tend to slam bikes. but I'm pretty sure that they can get the idea if they can only get to like riding. I'm hoping that engine assist can help in this. Wish me luck!

Welcome,
Just a minor comment on the learning to ride these bikes with motors, that's the easy part.
It's the other road user's awareness that is a bit of a hassle.
Just take care when approaching a vehicle wanting to cross, the drivers sometimes mistake you for a ordinary bike, therefore miscalculate the bike's speed factor and contiunue to drive across your path, then slam on the THEIR brakes.
Even though we are doing 15-20 mph, the driver of a car thinks for a second you are peddling, then thinks, "wait a sec, something is not right" and is confused for a split second.
At 14 years of age and not driven a car, it may be a bit difficult to identify what drivers go through to cross a road.
Just be aware of this fact.

The other fact is parked cars and all of a sudden sumwun opens their car door.

All the Best and safe riding
