Hey everyone, My name is clint, and im from Ky...I absolutly love this forum. I have been reading up on things on here for about a week now. Finally I had to get an account on here. I have a 31cc ryobi engine (off a weedeater) and a 10 speed moutian bike. I havent it together b/c I had some questions that I thought maybe you guys could awnser for me. What is the pros and cons of friction drive vs. gear drive? also, where can I find a clutch setup for my engine? I have searched and searched on here. But I really havent found what I need awnsered...anyways....any help would be apprecaited!! thanks

Friction drive is an easy setup but would slip on a wet or contaminated wheel. Chain drive rules cause it's a direct link. People here say belt drive is best cause it's silky smooth. I guess they have merit or else Harley wouldn't be doing that.
Clutch I dunno.
I'm glad your reading all the threads!
WELCOME to MBc!

thanks! yea I figured chain would be alot better b/c you wouldnt have any slip compared to belt or friction..will a bike run on friction without a clutch?
