Glad the bike works well for you Ozzy. i can agree with it straining up the steepest hills but in any case it sure beats pedal power alone. What exactly are you planning on doing to modify the Trailz? i don't know if the crank from my mongoose would fit. I think they're both 3-piece so it should be easy to find out and swap.
and how did you get the stickers off easily? Heat gun and goo gone?

Relocating the motor. See pic. I haven't sat down, counted teeth and calculated efficiency yet.
If the cranks are not compatible. I can the pull small sprocket off of the cheap-o bike and bolt it onto the e-zip. Eventually I want to get GhostO's crank freewheel. I think I'm goin' to order an extra mounting plate so I can work on it a keep it ridable.

It works if all I had to worry about was the 6 mi. to work. I'm look for a house this fall I could be up to 20 mi. from work. NIce batteies would get the range, but I believe it could work better.

I wouldn't have a hub motor.
A/ Not "modable" see pic in my above post
B/ What if you get in a wreck? The most vulnerable part of the bike is the rims. There goes your hub motor $$

thats a good point, but I like the hub motors because they look stealth to me & from videos I've seen on youtube they are quieter than chain driven motors.
But maybe yours is quiet... you tell us :)

BTW: I live in Hooksett, NH and I know the hills on rt 3A going to concord have you tried you bike out on them (or like them) yet?

Glad your wal-mart bike is working out for you!

Mike

At that rate, 200-300 charges, if you rode it daily, you'll need new batteries every 2 1/2 to 3 months. That's gonna add up. You get what you pay for.

It can handle Gully/Louden Hill in Concord, but only just. Have you bought a motorized bike yet or still doin research? Better batteries wil make it perform better up hills.

Time is short got to go to work.:-|

Thats a good sized hill :), your lucky to get the last one wal-mart had.

I'm still pricing hub motors, think I found one to order though... I'll post when I get it. (don't want to plug them, seems admins don't like that)
