I just recently installed my Happy Time 80 on a mountain bike. It runs pretty good, but I was hoping it had more speed and power. It only goes around 20 MPH and will barely pull a medium hill.

Any suggestions on how I can get more power?

Thanks

Wait for it to run in and dont rag the guts out of it would be a start...

The chengines need to be run in sympathetically - or they wont perform very well in later life as it were. You can, when you have run the bike in (not before) fit up a suitable tuned pipe and also change the sproket for a faster one although you will loose hill-climbing ability (should be more than made up for by the pipe)

Ride an MB sympathically and it will be a good reliable machine - overtax it or treat it badly and dont look after it - It wont look after you... first law of mechanical respect that (as my grandfather used to say)

Hi John, just try searching Horse power mods, and look in the Wild In the Streets section. What part of the world you from? Any pics of your bike?

Installing it & running at high speeds, immediately,, will cost you another engine. BREAK-IT-IN !

Exactly, running it hard and at high speeds while varying engine load and engine rpms is a great means to break it in. Give it time, it will work and come up on power.

You are exactly right. It now has about twice the power it had when I first cranked it up. It's actually pretty powerful for its size.
