Idiots Have Serious Motored Bike Crash in Australia

Looking at pics of the wreckage I notice that both bikes are Dunlop supermarket bikes with plastic Kenda tyres that I can burst with my teeth - total crud and unsuitable for motorising - the bikes that is not my teeth!. I know cos I've motorised one and it was useless. Those front caliper brakes wouldn't stop the bike even without a motor and, here's the bit that will have the wowsers ecstatic with glee, there is a boost bottle on one and probably on both. I'll bet both were disqualified drivers and were up to some sort of mullarkey but I still think a car was probaby involved.
They'll probably get slotted if they have DUI records and at least they get to stay at home in Graftom cos that's where the local prison is.
Here's a picture of the wreckage.

A couple of semesters in con college will no doubt season these boys enough so that the next time they will be able to steal a few cars to play chicken with.

Idiots in every town, state, country. Can't escape them. We can't classify this case until
all of the facts come in. Maybe it truly was an accident/maybe idiot. Idiot or not i'll say
a prayer for them both.

There was a guy in Port colborne Canada That hit some train tracks at a relativly slow speed and he had no helmet on now he's in the hospital with brain damage

All reports to date have one thing in common, Negligence.
Sure, we all, or most, go through this "honeymoon" stuff for a month or so when we proudly get on our MB for the first time.
However, if we look at the numbers, how many out there riding a MB senseibly to work, affordably, at a time of fuel price crisis ?
Results are, more disposable income due to less hard earnt cash going to greedy oil cartels etc, and that money saved goes back into the local economy, the concept of the MB cannot be written off due to 1 or 2 senseless idiots.

What needs to be done then ? Some brains-storming;
Self regulation and that may include those in retail/wholesale to not exploit price for quality, then brakes, quality brakes at a minimum standard for MB's
For example, do away with alloy brake levers, they can snap at the hinge.
Ya know ?? back to basics, we are not Spandos, don't need their concept of a lighter bike and all the rest of their standards.
If we don't do this sort of stuff, then good-night-irene with the stroke of a pen by some statician in beurocracy.

I really think that riders here at MBc are a couple steps above riders that don't know about this forum. Here, we all learn from each other's mistakes... quite probably preventing a ton of mishaps if we didn't have each other.
Not really, people here still want to consistency ride at 50+k/h even when people like me tell them not to.

Not really, people here still want to consistency ride at 50+k/h even when people like me tell them not to.

BUT the people doing over 50 km/h are doing it safer than those not in the forum. I ride in the fifty range daily cause the limit on the most commonly traveled road is 80 BUT i know to check tighten re check and re tighten after every ride and even before sometimes. I have welded my tensioner to the frame so it doesn't en up in my wheel. i always have a helmet gloves jeans and long sleeves even if it's 30 degrees celcius, i know cars don't think i'm going that fast and besides if i'm gonna get hit in the rear i'd like to be doing a speed as close to the car that hit me as possible to lessen the impact. I never ride on sidewalks or bike trails in my opinion they are for non motored vehicles. I do how ever like to cruse at about 35-40 and take in the sights.
