Greetings people - I shortened my drive chain by a few links, and that will take care of a loose chain that I have, but I was wondering, how do you check to see if the sprockets are aligned ? And, if the rear sprocket only goes on one way, how would you correct for any misalignment ?

I just look at the chain from the rear and "sight" it. As far as the rear sprocket it goes on either way that works for YOUR installation to line the chain up.

I just visually checked mine too. I know that some will disagree, but if it's off just a little it shouldn't hurt anything as long as the chain tension is good. Mine are lined up pretty good, but my rear wheel wobbles like crazy(hub is bad) and I haven't had any issues with the chain coming off.
