Huasheng parts

Where can we get spare parts for the 49cc Huasheng? Waste of time because they are cheap like a 2 stroke? Will the Honda parts fit? I think my loaner has a broken rod and I haven't had it apart enough yet to know exactly how much damage it did.

Ya I suppose that was pretty stupid of me, I just bought their mounting kit to use on this motor and guess I didn't put 2 and 2 together, for some reason I thought they sold Honda's. Thanks for the tip.

Some of the Honda parts fit & some don't,so it's trial & error......take your Hua part/parts into a good Honda dealership & compare.
DON'T assume anything with these 2 engines because eventhough they look the same externally u can't trust the internals to be identical.

That's right Fetor but I've been inside both motors and they look very similar indeed and I think there's a 70% chance a piston rod from the Honda will fit the HS but I'd buy a new HS and keep the other for spares. Then I'd buy a Honda and use the spare HS carby on it because they go great together and your throttle problems are solved for the Honda. BE.Com sell the HS carby separate for $40.

They don't call it the HuaSheng but call it the DP 049 so when you look in their spares section you need to know this.

inferior metals & castings are the thing your fighting here! good luck with the huasheng!! hope they perfect it someday!!

Actually the metals & castings are quite good...not as good as the Honda/Subaru or some others i've seen, but still in proportion to their price very good & represent exceptional value.

That's right the HS is much better value for what you get than the 2-stroke motors. The valves rattle and that's the only real drawback.
I found out why the new HS motors have a cable operated choke as standard and why the 3 piece cranks are now standard in kits. The reason is that Bird Dog asked for these changes. The plastic chokes broke and people in the US said their bikes hadn't got a BB that fitted the large 1 piece ashtabula crank. I'm getting used to the choke change but the 3 piece crank is a disaster for me cos none of my customers will accept it and I don't blame them. I think those Walmart cruisers must have a smaller BB than normal cycle shop Schwinns and Felts etc and we've been tarred with the same brush because of it. Has anyone in Australia used the 3 piece crank on a cruiser and if so which cruiser? The cable choke necessitates a special bracket plate to house the cable holder - it looks OK but it takes up room where the measurement is often critical. See picture.
Those Grubee specially made cruiser bikes are really good I reckon but I think it will be a very long time before we can get them from the local outlets.
