I've been lurking for a few days now and obviously my interest has been sparked.
I'll thank everybody in advance for sharing their experiences.

I am in the process. A long time friend directed me to this site and he has built I believe 4 bikes. I'm quite familiar with the engines being utilized (except the Chinese 2 cycle) and the technology in general as I have dedicated my daylight hours to managing the equipment required to maintain a local golf course.
As a former avid bicyclist (and advocate) I thought a motorized version would be a worthy consideration. All options are on the table although I am particularly interested in just where the technology for an electric ride is positioned today and where it will be in the near future.
To be driving down a road in complete silence on a bike again... OK, maybe the first one just might be a 2 cycle...

hi Bill -- yes - maintaining the old golf course

I have dedicated my daylight hours to managing the equipment required to maintain a local golf course.

I retired from the City of San Diego
they used to lend me out to the Torry Pines Golf Course once a year
the big Andy Williams thing

also - besides being an equipment operator
spent some time in the small engine repair shop
sounds like you know what I mean

I miss the old shop -- the tools were impressive

can't help but love these little one banger MB engines
