Hi All,
I've been researching bike motors for about a month now hoping to do my first build next summer. I don't think I've read any bad reviews on the 35cc Robin/Subaru Mini 4-Stroke. Everybody seems to love it. I was wondering just how many miles (or hours) I might expect to get out of one. Anybody had one for a long time?

Hi Mike. I started out last season with 1750 miles and this season with
famliy/friends/neighbors riding constantly (approx 25 mi/day) weve got almost
4000 HARD mi. Gebe, on the 2nd belt. 2nd set of tires

well -- not sure about the long haul -- but

the Subaru comes from a long strong blood line -- Fuji Industries

thirty five years ago in my bicycle shop
Fuji was my top of the line bicycle
and they also make so many other quality products

maybe I am wrong -- but -- it seems that I read somewhere
they should last for 6 thousand hours of service ???
I admit -- that doesn't sound right -- maybe someone will correct me ???

I am thinking that it will be a long time before we wear our Robins out

many many happy miles as we ride those THINGS

Thanks Terrence

Thanks Terrence ... just the sort of thing I wanted to hear!

Thanks Mountainman

Thanks Mountainman.
That sounds very good coming from someone with your experience.

About the 6000 hours on the Robin/Subaru ... I'm not sure but seems to me I just read the figure somewhere as 600 hours.? I think the person went on to figure that at 30 miles an hour that would come to 18,000 miles ... but as I said, I'm not sure either.

Anyway, I'm glad to get another thumbs up for the little 4-storke as it's looking like the way to go.

Appreciate the help ..........

come on Mountain -- too many zeros !!!!!!!!!!!!

sorry about that -- been a long day here on the mountain top
remodeling job ongoing here at home
and we all know that I would rather be riding my motor bike.....

yes - I only had one too many zeros in there !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
it's 600 hours -- which comes out to a whole lot of riding that THING

I just went to the Fuji site for the heck of it
they just started building Japan's first Jetliners
have been into MANY THINGS -- railway cars, bus bodies -- list goes on

as the list goes on you can't go wrong -- ride that Robin THING

Know what you mean about the remodeling ... hope you don't have to do any WALLPAPERING!

600 hours still translates into many, many miles. It's looking like the Subaru is going to win the poll.

Thanks again for the input........

Mike, I only have 1500 mi on mine (GEBE BELT) and 800 on the wifes (Staton friction) and they always start between the first to third pull. The only time I had to
pull it more than 3 times is because I forgot to turn the on/off ignition switch. :)
