Ratty Bob

this is my second build.
it is my first 4-stroke.
the people that sold me the
engine kit told me the 4-stroke
would not fit in that frame.
it was not easy, it fit barely
but it did. I am building
micro Bobs for it now.
the Bobs will hold about
1/2 gallon each side.

that's a super nice looking motor bike thing

you have straight pipes. how do they sound?

that's exactly what I was wondering about
with that -- what looks to be a straight thru pipe
must sound pretty sweet

or maybe you have a little something stuck in the end of pipe ?

had a straight pipe on a Honda 90 years ago
had a little (baffle) thing on the end of pipe I could just turn with two fingers
so as to lighten the sound somewhat
then when the time was right -- open that baby right back up

ride that thing

Thats one Clean ride !!!

You must have put some hours in on that one..
Nice lines great vintage look..
Thats one to be proud of .:D

mountainman i agree. i actually knew a real cool guy who used to tell something exactly the same about his harley exhausts. he ran straight pipes too. sounded real sweet and he also said that with the tweaking of a screw he can just turn the sound completely around. after hearing his pipes i just fell for the straight pipes. i was thinking of using a good ol' plumbing pipe to make an exhaust but i still have to do research on what affects the diameter and lenght of the exhausts will make.

pooolice pulled us over for noise

sounded real sweet and he also said that with the tweaking of a screw he can just turn the sound completely around.

I wonder if they still make those
mine was a simple (store bought)
round piece about the size of a quarter with just a few holes in it
so the quarter size thing had a small piece smaller than pencil size
maybe an inch long attached to the quarter size flat baffle
I drilled a hole just in from the end of straight pipe
slid the end piece from the inside of pipe and through to ourside
had a little knob that screwed onto the small round piece sticking through

twist of a finger while riding -- on or off as wanted

true story -- sad for my buddy -- but true
we were riding our motor bikes and the pooolice pulled us over
before I even came to a stop I turned the little wonder knob
the pooolice said that one of our bikes was very loud
a Honda 90 with a straight pipe is a trip to hear
the poolice had each of us start up and rev our bikes
my buddy got a ticket for excessive noise
he was cool and didn't tell the pooolice the truth
it was me with my knob THING
I owed him a big one for taking that ticket

as we ride those things

sounds real good man. so u r saying that the bigger pipe has a smaller pipe inside that you can turn on or off? sounds real interesting. if you ask me i think, if the pipes are little bit loud, its for our safety as people can atleast hear us coming but at the same time it raises the question that nobody likes loud noise around.
