Honda/Hua Crash Bar.

maybe some nice looking foot pegs -- non folding type

mounted to the frame just in front of your engine
sticking out just far enough so as to be full all around protection
not sure if pegs would be comfortable mounted there
as you sit on your MB and pop your legs up -- what do you think ?
might just turn out to be a nice addition as you kick back on that thing and ride

ride that thing

I've given up trying to find something that will fit(off the shelf) & be strong enough to take a heavy knock.....trouble is thesedays everything is made so weak.
I'll fab my own bracket from stainless steel...i've already got some excellent rod for the studs.
Post pics when i'm done.

Titan...don't let the sticker fool ya,it's for the benefit of the cops.Made in 3mm Stainless Steel.
In-Frame genuine Honda to follow.

Having dropped my Billinudgel Bullet yesterday when I touched the front brake on a wet right hand downhill bend and the front wheel slid from under me at considerable speed I am pleased to report that the plastic pulley cover didn't receive a scratch. The handlebars and the pedal kept it clear of the ground. Maybe the panier on the rear side helped too but the force bent the crank arm, ripped the throttle handle badly and brake lever, scratched the nose of the front steel fender and smashed the streamlined light on the front fender to bits. That is not very bad damage for a fast spill and the worst damage was to myself. The attached picture shows the side of the bike that went down at speed 3 days before it happened. The bike slid about 10 metres over rough bitumen on a country road before coming to a stop in the gravel and grass.
I didn't slide half as well and am now in considerable pain. Straightening the one piece crank will need heat and that will spoil its looks cos its chromoly.

Rather Sorry to hear that John. The main thing is that your in a recoverable state & a good object lesson for us all..........no-one is immortal.

No person is immortal but a Fosscati FG4 Billinudgel Bullet comes pretty close. I expect it will one day grace the foyer of the Powerhouse Museum in Sydney next to the as yet unnamed Fetor Electra Adelaide Atomic and perhaps a scale model of the HoughMade Indiana Immolator and a few other famous bikes of the early 21st century.
Seriously guys if you put a crash bar on your downtube it could well cause more damage to the bike and might even encourage cartwheeling. Maybe footpegs out the side of the rear wheel would give better protection. It's pretty hard to scratch the plastic cover if you drop the bike.

The bar is not on the downtube...the bar on the outside of the pull start mechanism. Two engine studs are replaced with longer studs. Please see my Titan pic,i did that bike first cos it's the most vulnerable.

Oh I see the set up. On a frame mount that bracket would clip my calf every time I pedal but it could work just as well running between the other two studs on the triangle of studs holding on the pull starter. That way it clears my leg but I see the Electra has a longer tray and could well be mounted forther forwards & thus not in way of leg. Would look good painted with black & yellow chevrons.

My engine cover is and the starter cover are painted...they could be painted again, so I guess I'll take my chances.

Looking closely at your bike HoughMade I see that your downtube is not quite the same goose-neck as the Schwinn Classic Beach Cruiser and it is further back from the front wheel and thus makes the engine tray a tight fit. I hadn't noticed that before but I have found that when I mount the motor further back I get a bit better power from the drive chain. I wonder why this is and having tried having the engine further forward it looks OK and often helps with the exhaust alignment but the power is noticeaby reduced albeit minimally. I tend to mount the motor further forward simply because it means I can take the chain off the drive sprocket without splitting the chain but I lose performance because of that. I hope you never drop your bike.
