Nice Day Turns Tragic

Fair enough, spunout. A coughing fit might hit anyone.

But if it does, then we all should quickly hit the four way flashers and start braking and pulling over as fast as possible, short of being dangerous about it. If we don't, then we are being just as reckless as the cell phone gabbers.

And the law ought to enforce things like that.

THINGS such as this -- do happen...

the fact is, that none of us were there to witness what really happened. perhaps, the coughing driver has lung cancer or some other respiratory illness.

i saw my grandmother fall into coughing fits, that left her immobile for minutes afterward.

if something like that were the case,
then the person should not be driving.

that's true -- we don't know exactly what happened -- maybe never will...

I have also seen one's with coughing fits to where
their eyes watered up -- making it hard to see, hard to walk, drive etc etc
many other side effects also noted

yes -- one's with coughing fits such as this should not be driving
question would be -- at what point do they realize -- unsafe ??

my first wife was killed in a car accident -- was not her fault
still -- as hard as it can be to say -- it was an accident
no one went to jail
it was something that someone ((many)) had to live with for ever...

always a sad thing when someone get's hurt or killed

MM, losing your wife like that - I can really, really relate. The utter unexpected blow that seems to nearly destroy your world. Having to tell the kids, the phone calls to family - the hardest things I've ever done.

Take all the joy you can in those g'kids - there is the only real immortality anyone can ever have.

not wishing to steal the thread here
but as SS has stated -- it's a hard THING to deal with
some have not had to deal with this yet -- we are glad
it's a burden one carries -- forever
but -- to be accepted -- as we are all just passing through
some so much faster than other's

our thoughts and prayers are with this brother killed on his motor bike and his family
those of us that have been though things such as this
know about the many grieving one's left behind...

can be a sad -- long -- lonely road...

A twist of fate...
The young man driving the moped was 24. He was a respectable,
recently married his highschool sweetheart and has a six month old
child. He worked at Cellular One selling cell phones. The young man
the car was 18 years old. My gut feeling is that the man was texting
on a cell phone before the accident. During this time of pain for his
family...I do believe is to keep my mouth shut and stay out of it.
The accident will fall under the radar because the State Trooper
investigating the accident identified the moped as a motorcycle.
