SpookyTooth Death Race 2009: YOUR input is requested

another idea i had, is Oro Valley to Oracle.
22-23 miles.
i like the idea of staying on one road, because when you're flying at an amazing, blinding speed of 40mph :117: and your goggles rip off your face, its tough to watch for street signs if you dont know where to look.
plus, we'll have a support vehicle for broken bikes .
with a route that has a whole bunch of turns, someone is going to get lost. and possibly left out in the desert alone.

Time to head south.

Arivaca is 61 mi

Madera Canyon is 40 mi

Patagonia is 63 mi

Key West is 2542 mi

If your bike has optional pontoons, Havana is only another 95 miles.

All can be reached while staying off the interstate of course.

Here's what's going down:

This is our party and you are invited!

Death Race is an annual outlaw desert event where riders regularly see their bikes nearly disintegrate as they approach speeds of 50 mph. To avoid the heat from coming down us, we have rented a race track for the day. Anyone and everyone is invited to participate.

Death Race 2009 will be held at P1 Circuit Race Track at the Pima County Fairgrounds in Tucson, AZ on Saturday April 18th, 2009. The entry fee, which covers insurance and track rental, is $10. Riders can begin to register at 12 pm and spend the afternoon running the course at their leisure. Death Race will begin promptly at 5pm.

Death Race is open to motorized bicycles with mid-frame 2-cycle bike engines. If enough riders attend, we may hold an open class race for any engine type mounted to a bicycle with operable pedals, i.e. Tanaka, Golden Eagle, Mitsubishi, etc.

This is a premiere event and the largest of its kind held anywhere in the nation. The winner of Death Race not only wins prizes, but gets full bragging rights for the year and a prominent spot on the Spooky Tooth website. This is an excellent opportunity for manufacturers and vendors to promote their products by placing first in Death Race 2009.

Bring the grill! This is going to be a very fun day long event!

See you there... http://www.spookytoothcycles.com/content/view/260/1/

Any fee to watch (and party)?
i seriously doubt it.
the fee is to enter your bike in the race.
you should be able watch me win for nothing :devilish:
actually, due to some hellaciously bad financial nightmares, i wont be entering this year. i'll just cruise around on my step-mom's rack mount.

datz510, my son and I will be heading there and maybe a few others can fit in our trucks. I look forward to meeting the Tucson and Bisbee groups. Want to renew friendships with AzBill and AzVinnie and whoever they go down with. Spunout, you can race my bike since my wife said I could not do it. I said I would just practice.... FAST!!!
:D
I talked to Easy Rider and he and Dean and another are headed there from the Bay Area of California, if it does not fall into the ocean first. This is a day or two I look forward to. I may bring a prototype trailer and give rides around the track.

I'm looking forward to cruisin the track and finally meeting some of you guys.
Any word on how many laps we are planing on racing or will it be an endurance style race where we race for 45 minutes or an hour straight and the one with the most laps win.
