hey,

I snapped the bottom fork to the back wheel,
on my bike.

About 1 inch out from the axle.

I have welded it back together twice
and still snapped it again.

other than chucking the bike away,
Do I have any other options ?

I finally got it running, and had some great rides,
put a night light on it and all.
only to have it snap again...

To find a piece of tubing that would slide over the broken part would be ideal but you may not have the room. It would be nice if you could slide this over the chain stay, weld up the frame and slide it over the weld and then weld the ends.
Or how about welding a 5 inch long piece of angle iron to the bottom of the repaired joint. You need to spread the pressure away from your weld,

I was just thinking, if you were to slide a solid bar into the tube and was able to slide it over so that half was on one side of the break and the other half on the other side of the break, one good weld would connect everything and that would never bother you again.

The inside diameter of the tube probably tapers down.....that's why i requested pics.

PS...Probably best to weld it(again)....grind the weld back & put a sleeve over the entire thing(weld that to) but without seeing what your up against it's hard to say.

Maybe I could take it to someone to weld.
As I would have to borrow the welder.

Picture the bottom bar of the back wheel on the sprocket side.
As I said, about one inch from the axle, the crack runs at 45 degrees to the bar.

I can take some photo's this weekend...

get an experienced welder to take a look

sure that can be welded up
but if you have already welded it a couple of times
you must be doing something wrong
wrong heat, welding rod, bracing added
either get an experienced welder to take a look
or
how much do you truly love that frame
could be time for a new one ???

ride thee MB thing
