carb needle?

found it!

haha i went in with a magnet and the second i bent down it picked it up! thanks for the idea i never new there was suppose to be a washer or what it looked like or if it was metal. thanks it seems alot smoother. so what does the needle do? i know the slide alows more air into the manifold, does the needle alow the fuel in? oh and this is the bike by the way.

I thort the washer went under the E clip.
I have always been doing it this way.
But I'm no authority on the matter.
Hmmm, more research needed.

If ya look inside the slide body you will see a depression in the
bottom that matches the diameter of the "C" clip on the needle.

Then the slotted washer goes over the top resting on the shoulder
inside the slide

Then da spring holds it all down,,,,,,,

If someone finds a reliable link,
you know what to do, post it here.

my bike is not running, so its a mute point for me really...
You probably have your washer in the wrong place :giggle:

I don't need no stink'in link :D

I seen hundreds of these motors and carb's

That would be "moot" but I guess it would be silent too.....

Forbisher is correct. (we don't need no stinkin' links)

Think about it, if the C washer is below the C clip on the jet needle, it will:

A: not secure the jet needle to the slide.
B: move the jet needle higher, enriching the fuel mixture.

There is a set of instructions posted on the internet somewhere that incorrectly shows the assembly order. So don't believe everything you read on the internet!

I started pullling apart the carb on my new Grubee 50 cc Gen II motors
with steel liner, angle fire head and longer bent clutch arm.

The carb bolts right on the back of the cylinder with no inlet tube
and has it's own fuel shut off

The slide is smaller in diameter but longer

The needle has 5 positions and the clip is much smaller in diameter

Even the washers are NOT interchangeable

Unfortuneately the carb still has no mixture screw

Going to be interesting to see how these motors run, gonna put
one on a cruiser as the motor has a large front tube diameter
of 1 3/8" and still has plenty of room to enlarge it to 1 1/2" as
the front studs are much further apart

The rear mount studs are standard but the mounting block takes
a larger diameter too ( can use a standard seat post mount as well )
