My front part of the frame is too large and I will have to drill into the frame. The frame is aluminum though and the bolts might vibrate and work their way down the tube making the holes bigger, and finally putting the chain/sprocket assembly out of alignment..

Sooo.....

Will JB Weld work to help reinforce the bolts?

What have you guys used JB weld on??

(I have never used it before)

Thanks in advance,
S.PadreSurfer

I have used JB Weld for many things
but
can you make some (made to size) proper clamps ??

it would always only be a ((last resort)) to drill into a bicycle frame !!

two key words used -- last & resort

ride that THING sideways

well i decided to buy the large frame clamshell adapters from thatsdax.com and some extra long studs just to be safe.
Good idea, drilling is a last resort.
Out of curiosity when u get them let us know their thickness(3mm,4mm)?

Mountain Man don't use the JB weld for your bike unless your cementing a taillight or some other non essential thing. They showed the JB weld product in a stress test it ( on HGTV) it will not last long in structural applications like your mounts or frame joints.

Adhesives

Have their place...
But not on something your sitting on moving 30+ MPH down the road !!!!!
:giggle:

Hey S. PadreSurfer Do you have any problems with the Police on SPI ..
I was thinking about bringing my M/B to SPI the next time I go down there to Fish..
Last time I was there you could even ride the stand-up scooters on the streets.
But it's been like 3 Years..

Well i've really only ridden it inside Isla Blanca Park. The farthest i've taken it is about to the bridge from the park which isnt very far.
And they've gotten rid of the park police and they have constables inside the park now. And i was cruising at about 28 or so on a 25 and flew by the constable on a side road and then saw him at the last second and slowed down, but i guess he didnt care. My baffle fell off so its real loud. So unless he was jammin out in there, he didnt seem to mind. But i bet i'll get pulled over sooner or later, and when i do, i'll let you know.

i know jb-weld doesnt hold the carb and intake together,i had to buy another carb.
a clamp with that bolt would be better.even my black tape held better than the jb-weld.
