Just thought I'd share this as a possible heads up:
Bike ran fine at higher RPMs but at lower seemed to be running too lean. The problem came on quickly. I had to constantly adjust the idle which prior to this was rock solid. I assumed there was something wrong with the carb and took this apart. Found no problem. Put it back on but the problem persisted.
Carb cleaner spray revealed that the cylinder base gasket had failed. Small opening near the front. Once identified I could even "feel" the gases on my finger when in close proximity.
Sick bike parts has a down-loadable gasket template. I made a new one out of some good gasket material I happened to have. Bike runs perfect again. I also noticed the intake gasket was on it's way out, soft and broken in one spot so I replaced this as well.
I noticed the stock gasket was very "soft" when removing it. It seems these may not be all that fuel proof and tend to deteriorate. Maybe that's why SBP has the template available. THANX SBP.
