Looks nice. Where'd ya find that light at?

I was thinking about using a bar end for a mount kinda like that. The 68 Chicago with drum and 10 ga spokes is jealous.

Thank you for the kind words. The light is just a simple "old school" from a bike shop, comes with that bracket however it is a bluish LED so it is really bright, or at least brighter than most regular blubs. I think it is Electra Brand $29.95.
I wish I had drum brakes like you! And a bigger tank like yours. I do have trouble with the narrow Schwinn crank and pedals touching the engine side covers...it's hard the get it just right so the chain lines up and neither crank scrapes the side covers. I have a homemade front mount but it may allow the engine to sit too low, I like your job .....
Thanks Again

What a beauty! What is that you have wrapped around the exhaust pipe?

Thank you and the others for the nice comments. The exhaust wrap just lowers the radiant temperature alot. I live in the desert. Motorcycles use it and Rat Rods for "the look" as well as function. Actually, we cut the pipe and re-welded it and it looked ugly so...... I wish someone would create a nice exhaust that goes to the rear and is styled for a cruiser. The expansion chamber exhaust is nice and functional but looks more like a dirt bike. Here''s a sample site that that kinda explains the wrap.

Thanks again

Thank you, the springer is just an aftermarket. I bought at my local bike shop for $50. The guy had to saw it off because the Schwinn neck was alittle shorter...but he used like a tap-n-die so after cutting it he backed off the die and cleaned the treads. Also, he need to mill it down alittle so the stock race would go on. But he didn't charge me. It was easy if you have the tools. I have even seen the springers at the swap meet for $35. I am sure they are no doubt less quality than real Schwwinn but ok for me. Here is one on eBay but more $$!

The Corvette came with a regular fork....here is my stock one I had as a kid and restored (sorry no motor!!)

Thanx
Jim

Schwins are W.F.C.!

Gotta love an old cantilever Schwin build, killer lime green paint and lotsa chrome...SWEET!

oops!

Sorry for the double post guys, my coffee ain't kicked in yet...
Just a warning about Schwinns of this model...
The welds at the top tube and the main down tube were they meet the head tube are notoriously weak...
I've seen them fail more than once, especially with heavier riders.
