Hey Guys
Figured someone on here may have an idea to this problem. It isn't on a motored bike but i have a lawn mower engine and it ran fine yesterday went to use it today started ok and was using it for a few minutes all of a sudden the engine started to hunt up and down the RPM range and almost stalled itself. It has a new plug the carb was cleaned recently not taken apart and has a new air filter on it. Any ideas as to what might cause this problem? Never had any issues with the mower till this came up today.
Thanks for any help
Jim

My 1st look would be at the carb, clean it thoroughly and make sure the linkage isnt binding at all. Look in the gas tank for debris just to cover that issue. A quattro has a float and bowl type carb I think and any debri will effect your motor as you describe. Make sure your choke is working to open and close all the way with the lever too....thats where I would start.

After reading your post again you need to take the carb apart and clean all the passage ways out and clean any residue out of it that might be sticking to the walls or bowl or needle, an air source will work wonders or wd40. I use a really fine wire to go through the passage ways then follow up with WD40.

True sbeaudry but he says nothing about leaking fuel, a hole in the fuel line would not make it rev up though I dont think, it would make it spit and sputter from sucking air instead of the fuel it needs.

Thanks much guys I am going to check out the carb figured you guys would be able to help I'll let ya know how I make out.
Take care
Jim

Darwin you are right there is no leaking fuel on it. However don't know about this issue when I did have it running after it started to run out of fuel it ran well for a few seconds have now idea why but will check everything out you suggested thanks again.
