Anyone have any experience running the Honda/Huasheng engine without the sheet metal cooling air deflector on the back and left side of the head??

Cooking the little HS

Hi, yeah, before i got my first HS a couple years ago, the guy I got them from tried this, it will burn the Exhaust valve, and rather quickly I hear.

I will never try it.

Thats a bummer. That sheet metal trim piece is cheesy looking and hiding those cast aluminum cylinder head fins.....wonder how it and the Valve cover would look in Black High Heat wrinkle paint? Might have to give it a shot.

I'de like to try it but i'm not prepared to risk either my Honda or HS engine simply as a cosmetic experiment.........we need a rich(or dumb) Newbie. :D

A guy could weld, braze or bolt faux fins on the cover. I thought about it, but I just don't care that much anymore.

Are you calling RATRODER a newbie or dumb?

PS: He is a mod and could award you a few infraction points for this personal attack :devilish:

Your kiddin right...since where on this thread has RATRODER's name even previously been mentioned ONCE.
Appropriate rebuttal quotation:
Never argue with an idiot. They drag you down to their level, then beat you with experience.

Hey, hey relax. The reference was to the attached pic showing RR's bike without the air deflector.

the cover is intended to force air over the head/cylinder. If you don't have it, the head & cylinder will get hotter than it should... maybe much hotter.
