<<< finally finished my 80cc felt cruiser >>>

Finally finished my project motor bike. Have to say it is one of the funnest things I have ever driven. I get looks like I am in a ferrari... people really trip out. I made a few mods most easy to notice are the filter, plug, and plug wire... but I also port matched the intake mani to the intake port and replaced all the old cheap chinese bolts. I have a nuvinci cvp hub ready to install I just wanted to work out all the bugs first. Dont know if the port matching helped but it has a lot of top end power. Here it is hope you enjoy... sorry for the crappy pics, will take some better ones tomorrow. I appreciate any comments, thanks.

Hiya!

Great looking bike, I have a Felt as well. I left a pic of it in the Sick Bike Parts thread. As for advice. I would keep an eye on the bottom bracket. With the Shift-Kit on my bike I found that the bottom bracket was flexing under load. You will feel it in the pedals. If you get that then the metal will eventually fatigue and break. If you feel flex the solution is to reinforce the area around the bottom bracket. I did it by extending my motor mounts but yours are different so you will have to find some other way.

Enjoy the ride! (and all the attention you will get.)

what part of the bottom bracket?

The bottom bracket is where the pedals go through the frame. Yours may not flex at all which would be good. Mine did so I fixed it before it caused any real damage. When you give the bike gas the Shift-Kit drive chain wants to pull the large drive gear (on the freewheel) towards the small drive gear. On my bike this meant that the pedals would move slightly when I gave it gas. I could feel it on the left pedal too. Since the cartridge holding the pedals was tight the only way this could happen is if the bottom bracket was flexing. Flex it enough times and it will eventually break. I reinforced the area below the motor around the bottom bracket and the flex went away. You have an aluminum Felt like my own and you are using a Shift-Kit. Therefore you may experience the same thing. Your motor mounts are different than mine however and there may be no flex. Lets hope there isn't but if there is you will feel it in the pedals.

Great bike!

My motor mounts were crafted from 2 flat plates of aluminum. I simply made longer ones that met above the bracket. I had planned to have them welded and boxed but just doing that solved the problem so I haven't had it welded yet.

I haven't had any problems that I have noticed... that front mount really helped a ton with the installation as well as vibration. I think the newer kits have more bracing where it is needed.
