<<< Sick Bikes Felt Red Barron Cruiser >>>

alright!!!! I am finally finished... It took forever (well actually four solid days and a couple of weeks on the net and waiting for shipping) but it is actually done. I had the nuvinci hub laced into my wheel yesterday and installed it today. All I can say is... WOW!!!!! Besides making my bike way faster through the higher gear ratios, it has an unexpectedly much smoother power delivery. here is a list of what I have put on the bike in case anybody is interested...

2007 felt Red Barron cruiser
Zoombicycles 80cc engine kit
Sick Bikes deluxe jackshaft kit
Nuvinci CVP hub
Ridley Motorcycles front mount
upgraded plug and plug wire
upgraded fuel filter
upgraded air filter
Dual pull brake lever (no brakes yet)
Port matched intake and exhaust
(Wal-Mart) Bell leather tool bag
(Wal-Mart) Schwin rear bicycle rack
...a ton of red electrical tape

I would just like to thank Jim @ sick bikes for his help... he called even after we exchanged e-mails and solved my problems, just to make sure I was taken care of. I appreciate all comments, thanks for looking...

Dude... ya gotta do the top tube/gas tank conversion...
The bikes screaming for it...
or at least use an old round harly oil tank on the tail rack... that kit tank looks silly on an otherwise way cool bike... hows that planetary rear hub working out?
Whats the deal on that clean front motor mount? do they come in sizes for larger down tubes?

thought about the tank conversion and I know the black tank looks silly... but I dont know if it is worth the trouble.

CVP hub is absolutely awsome... it uses fluid to transfer the torque so the power delivery is xtra smooth. It seems to be indestructable... I have given it a **** of a time here at the beach up and down the hills.

the front mout comes in two sizes mine is the bigger one.

I haven't hooked up the shifter yet but I have stopped and changed it manually by turning the little knob... the hub is of very high quality , im sure you will be very happy. I know I am even w/ the $300+ price tag

I been waiting for 3 weeks to get my wheel with the nuvinci hub back from the bike shop the first guy building it gave up and gave it back to the bike shop for him to mess with lol..They had never seen a nuvinci hub and asked what the heck is this going on. I bought the juicy rear disc brake kit for it also so it will hopefully stop ok with the just the rear brakes. I wish they would hurry up i need to mock up and weld the brake tang on so i can paint. Oh well dont want to hurry them. Nice bike

wow that sucks my local bike shop had it done in less than a day. They all ride motorized bikes and got excited about the hub... they want me to bring the bike by next week so they can check it out.

Very VERY cool bike!!!
You won't have any problems with the NV hub. I've run mine a HARD thousand miles climbing steep hills off road. I had to get my wheel re-spoked because staton 3 crossed it when it should have been 2 cross. Couldn't handle my abuse I guess.
You'll have no problem stopping with a rear disc, however you're not going to be able to make emergency stops as fast without the front brake so take it easy and resist the urge to hot rod.
Those tires and rims are possibly the beefiest things I've ever seen on a bicycle.
Awesome job, keep sending the pix!

LOVE IT, all of it but the thank.

Which reminds me:

At some time in the past I could have sworn I saw combination luggage rack/gas tank for sale for MB's somewhere. But I have been unable to find it again.

From what I understand on the FELTs the capacity of converted upper frames varies quite a bit depending on model. See specs on ridleys site for tank capacity according to model. Again the combo gas tank/luggage rack may have been nice.

Some guy put a neat looking round gas tank on a huffy right behind the seat. Looked very cool and I'm sure would hold plenty of gas. If one could be found that may be another option.

I know, the gas tank was a quick fix. I got the under-rear-rack gas tank from thatsdax... still looking for a rack though.
