I need help gettin small bevel gear off! please respond quick

Ok everyone. Hello and thanks for looking. i am in need of help in how i can remove the small bevel gear's flat head screw. ive tryed with te biggest screw driver i have at home and cant loosen it. please leave any info on how you have done it or if you know others who have and tell me how i can.

Heat it up w/ a propane torch, don't melt the aluminum case tho!!! Propane will melt aluminum.

Once you get it good and hot quench w/ WD-40... Give it a try, repeat as necessary. Le'me no how you make out!
 
You need an impact screwdriver to knock it loose. You can pick one up at Sears.

Refrain from using too much heat, as you'll melt the oil seal behind the gear.
 
i have an impact wrench but i do not have the actual attachment for the flathead screw. where would i find one?

Descent hardware stores sell them(usually in packets of 4) as seperate items,for ppl that loose or break their original.

thanks for the info but my impact wrench is like the one used for car hub nuts. is there an attachment that will work with that?

Sorry man,dunno.
Possibly someone will chime-in with the correct answer,but even if it comes to it the other type of impact driver is cheap enough to be bought as a seperate toolbox item.......darn invaluable.
