Just checked for piston clearence on the slant head.
Without the gaskets the piston will hit the head.
With the flat top piston this isn't a problem.
With the dome shape it is.

So check you clearence before you start the motor if you play with the head or gaskets.

You could ruin your motor.

Will the NKG B6-HS clear the piston with the stock 2 head gaskets installed??

The slant domed piston I have will clear using 1 thin aftermarket gasket. Remember the less gasket thickness the greater the compression ratio the harder to start. My son 135# had to go back to 2 gaskets. He had a problem of the tire not grabbing and turning and thus a hard process starting engine.

I would suggest that when replacing any head gasket, put the gasket on the cylinder, rotate the crankshaft and make sure the piston does not hit the gasket (goes through the gasket). Install head with plug and retest before attempting to start.
