I struck gold!!! My new Whizzer build... (pics inside)

A couple of days ago I bought a used whizzer. From the best of what I can gather its a 99 model although I would greatly appreciate if someone could confirm or disprove this for me.

here is the story... I was planning to build a poor mans whizzer with the new harbor freight 2.5 hp motor I bought on sale a couple of days ago.... but my plans changed.

After some searching for a suitable bike, I found an old, stripped whizzer frame on craigslist that I was gonna try to use as a base for my project. On my way to look at the frame, the lady calls back to tell me she thinks its been modified (an answer to a question I asked earlier on the phone). I almost turned around in disappointment but I felt this urge to check it out regardless, partly because I was halfway there anyways.

When I got there, I found the front of an old blue whizzer frame un-harmoniously joined together with the rear of a Schwinn chopper. I respectfully declined so she said she had a partially assembled whizzer in the back. I asked if she wanted to sell it so we went in her back yard to check it out. I crawled though this heap of a small backyard and laying under a mountain of old blankets with a couple other bikes was a little piece of treasure. After some negotiating a little, here is what I found....

With close inspection and some research the next day I found there was "a few" parts missing and a "little" work to do... to say the least. But... I only paid $250 for the bike, so there is still some budget left for goodies.

I cleaned the bike up and put new tubes in the tires for the pictures... but this is the bike as it was before I pulled the motor out and mailed it to Quenton for a "massage". I will be adding in the missing pieces as the $$$ comes in to support them and will be sure to post some pics of my projects for those who are interested.

Any comments welcome... hope you enjoy.

SCCCHHHHHHWWWWWEEEEEEETTTTT!

That is the ultimate Whizzer barn find. I'm happy for you! It's nice to see that someone gets good things like that and doesn't instantly turn around and sell it for profit. That totally ruins the moment for me. Enjoy your ride!

WAY TO GO!!! I'm sure when your done she'll be as sweet as the Baron. Oh and BTW, that's Platinum not gold!

She didn't happen to have a Corvette back there that she was willing to sell for $100.00 did she??? :giggle:

Great find! I know you're gonna love it once you get the engine back and the missing parts sourced. Make sure you get the hi-flow insert for the exhaust (provided you don't go with the vintage-style flex pipe). You'll love the sound.
