Muffler Pipe fell apart

Well, I was riding around the hood when the pipe all of a sudden got really loud (scared the %*#@ outta me). Well the end of the pipe and all internals fell out and I ran over it (nearly threw me). Now just gotta figure out how to get this thing back together. I could definitely tell a HUGE difference in power and how easy it revved with the muffler gutted.

I would just say buy another one. They are really cheap and you can buy something upgraded to get a little extra power.

I would, but I am the "hate to wait on shipped parts" type . I have access to a welder and what not. So I'm searching on here on for the best muffler mod that will increase power and not sound and will go from there.

those mufflers are junk! your best option is to spemd a little extra $$ and get an expansion chamber.
you will see a huge difference in power, and it will not fall apart on you.
get an expansion chamber and a stinger muffler to go in it.....you'll be so glad you did.

yeah, i dont really want to make it much louder because i dont want to cause attention, there nto really legal here haha.

if you put a muffler on the end of the expasion chamber, it will not be much louder than stock....and you will gain a lot of power.
you can not really have the best of both worlds (silence and a power increase).
high flow = power...high flow= noise. every muffler made to quiet the exhaust will reduce flow. a baffle is the way to get some noise reducton, and good flow but it will not be as quiet as a stock muffler.

Haha, I had mine fall out one ride too after my first rebuild of the bike, it was just that the screw that goes in the end to bolt it in came out - however I think those bolt onto the catalytic converter, which is kind of just really tightly 'wedged' inside the pipe, and it looks like thats actually whats come lose on yours.

Sure its mendable, but beyond my skills. As someone said before, they're pretty cheap.

I took the baffles out of mine on purpose. stuffed a few chore boys (copper "Steel wool")in side and welded the end back on. It's about the same sound level as stock but much better power. I did about 8 small tack welds to hold the tip in place. Not as good as an expansion chamber but the price was right and I'll up grade latter.

what fell out here is the baffle, not the cat. converter.
the baffle end is held into the pipe by 2 screws. the cat. converter is up near the head-pipe and is held in with one screw.
the converter os not just wdged into the pipe, it has a single screw holding it in.
if you are going to try and fix this muffler, pull the cat. converter thing out and leave it out.
all it does is block the flow of the exhaust and get clogged up with oil over time. This clogging will drastically reduce performance.
