Try checking if your bike is shorting out somehow ? also his plug !
Good Luck .

Disconnect your kill switch and see if it runs. I have seen them short out to the handle bars and kill the spark.

Good luck

ae86lad, you say it's not sparking. Do you mean that the engine is not firing, or that there's no spark at the plug, when it's laid on the head?
If it's not sparking at all, (at the plug), besides Bobby and Jim's suggestions, another possibility is that the woodruff key for the magneto rotor is missing, (heard of a case of this a few days ago), or sheared.
Is this a new build or was it previously running?

An afterthought, if the key is missing or sheared, there will probably still be a spark, but at the wrong time.
Worth a look if everything else appears OK.

Since you have used your parts in a friends bike that will rule out the fact that your magneto and CDI are good. Step 1 should be to eliminate anything except what the bike needs to run with. Make sure that ONLY the magneto is hooked up to the CDI and the CDI to the plug. If you are still not getting (if this is the case) spark to the plug, pull the magneto off and remove the magnet (the piece that is on the crankshaft that spins in the magneto) and check the moon key. Some tines there is too much slack and the key could be sheared, and I've heard of them missing from the factory.

Posted before I read Steve's post.

Steve, if the key is missing and the magnet is loose there is a possibility of no spark, but your right if the magnet is spinning even without the key, there should be some spark.

Bike not running

My bike wouldn't run; I went through everything. It was getting spark. I finally pulled the magneto and there was no woodruff key in the slot. Timing was all screwed up. Put a key in and it ran. mikes:unsure:
