disk breaks!!!!!

Welding metals after they have been tempered, will weaken the metal. the welding process heats up the metal to melting point, and when it re solidifies the metal has lost its temper, what most fabrication places do is weld everything, then put the frame, fork, whatever and heat treat it to get its overall strength back.

but it wont weaken it enough to really fail, its just a small concern

Hydralic is better then mechanical. They take less hand pressure to operate and the self adjust. I put a hydralic on the front of my beach cruiser and now I'm spoiled. I want to put hydralic disc on all my bikes.

Regarding the welding question. When the tabs are welded during manufacturing, both compotents and rod are temperature controlled. If the different metals are heated to much it will weaken the metal. That all said, I welded mine on and took the risk. If you or your welder doesn't get the forks to hot, you should be OK.

Just got home from my old house and brought my Lincoln Pro Mig 175 with me Gonna weld it :devilish:
