I noticed texas cut down motoed bike laws to under 40 cc and laws are being reviewed by other states.I mean.Coming In here to discuss things Is cool. But If you really are passionate about your hobby. Why In the **** don't a bunch of motored bicycle enthusiast get together In front of the white house and demand some kind of bill for 40 mph speed limits and no requirement to have a license to operate?I mean If we can have the million man march full of racist blacks, homosexual pride parades,And truck drivers go to washington and protest and demand some kinda respect and change In the laws. Why can't we grow a set of nuts and do the same.If we keep on the trend we are on.Eventually there will be no rights left for us and our future generations.Contrary to popular belief.40 mph Is not terribly fast or dangerous If you operate your bike with respect. And Around here and country roads.20 to 30 mph sometimes Will get you creamed on a backroad with no shoulder to ride and a redneck semi operator breathing on your bumper.Until I see some action and gumption Instead of complaining and p!ss!ng In the wind retoric.I will continue to be amazed by how people and motorbicyclist In general are scared to really make a stand where It counts. In washington. So far I think people do this to oppresive laws of this once great and free country.:bowdown::bowdown::bowdown::bowdown:Please dictate my life and what's best for me mr president and congress.:bowdown::bowdown::bowdown::bowdown::bowdown:Time to make a stand,Or continue to bow down to those In power whom strangely enough would have no power If It was not for our votes.Sign petitions In your state and protest In washington If you really care for your rights and country.Or do this:bowdown::bowdown::bowdown::bowdown::bowdown: And see where that gets you. By the way.I never Implied a violent march or hollaring and shouting.Just a peaceful march.

Remember.Tour de france racers exceed 50 to 60 mph but no one whines about their excessive speeds.

Already bad enough It's starting with the 2 stroke ban. Then It'll be a 4 stroke ban. Then It'll be electric once they realize that battery factories pollute making batteries.Than It'll be 5 cc's or less at 5 mph top speed.Than nothing. It'll all be Illegal.People better stand together despite differences and ethnic backgrounds and make a stand before we are a forgotten breed.

are you kidding me?
march to the whitehouse over motorized bikes?
I think there are far more important things to worry about.
do you really think congress, the president or any other political figure has the time to listen to a handful of people whine about m.b. laws?
The United states government is on the brink of imploding on itself and you think that they have the time to listen to this?

this whole hobby still underground, and we are looked at as the minority.
and, in fact, that's all this really is, is a hobby.
if any of you think that operating a 2 stroke or 4 stroke m.b. is being environmentally friendly, you can forget about it.
pollution is pollution no matter how you look at it.

you mention "racist blacks","homosexual pride parades", "redneck truckers".
w.t.f. does that have to do with m.b.'s????
I think you have issues that have nothing to do with m.b.'s.

Well Said Motorpsycho. Some of us are working quietly with our local law enforcement and at a state level with DOT to come up with reasonable regulations.
In my opinion, 40 is too fast for a bicycle, we do not have the stopping power a disc brake equipped motorcycle has, nor do we have the suspension that can affect control.
The squeaky wheel does not always get the oil, sometimes it gets trashed. So far we're doing the right things to keep from appearing to be a bunch of pushy, aggressive, noisy, polluting motorbikers. Start marching and screaming and waving signs and you'll get noticed alright and probably not the kind the kind of attention you want.

I have no Issues with the earlier posts I mentioned and In fact commend the million man march and *** pride parades for having some guts to stand for what they believe In.Whether I agree or not.You say this Is underground? I say wrong. This hobby been around for 120 years and If people continue to think this Is a joke. You can bet you won't have this hobby down the road.I respect what you are saying. But,Mopeds and motored bicycles Is not some underground hobby.and The pollution you state on these Is marginal per volume to a modern automobile. And there are people who cannot afford a car or for whatever reason don't have a license that need these to get to work being It's all they got.I pray you one day understand how fundamentally Important this Is.And I respect what you posted and welcome disagreement long as It's In a humane fashion.Have a nice weekend.

The earth was formed by pollution of volcanoes. And It was one time In the past that being g*y or black was underground also. But they did something about It.Not the case here for us.

Don't be mad at me.I work with local law enforcement on these also. But,I had a bike do 40 mph with dual cantilever brakes and never once had a problem stopping over the lifespan of the engine. If you lived where I lived and had to deal with a semi running your rim by Inches and being Impatient cuz you cannot maintain 35 mph and get creamed on the highway. You might be singing a different tune.Sometimes going too slow Is dangerous. And I never mentioned a riot.I stated a peaceful march and sign petitions to make our voice heard. There are bikes with disk brakes that can easily handle 40 mph.Tour de france racers race at 50 to 60 mph on horseshoe brakes and stop fine. There comes a time when a person can either give up and watch more restrictive laws take place In this once fine nation.Or make a peaceful stand and Sign petitions and try to stop the Influx of repressive laws. You will be singing a different tune and crying on the net forums once restrictions kick In really hard.I for one will leave this country If things get to that point.I respect your views although I disagree. And This I will not do to oppression:bowdown::poop: Keep on your negativity and see what happens down the road for this hobby older than motorcycles. Even the cops got on me for not being able to hold 35 mph on dangerous backroads where everybody does 35 mph and cannot pass you on a narrow road with no shoulder.Talk about road rage.

motorized bicycles and mopeds are the same motorpsycho.More on the road than what you think.

you have to agree... he makes good points.

Motorized bicycles were here first, and yet in many places we cant even operate them legally.

Sounds to me like the motorcycle manufacturers have long since learned that people are willing to pay more for something with more power and no pedals. It also seems to me that a wide spread motorized bicycle industry, largely supported by home-made, garage-built machines would dampen the already marginal bottom line for people like Harley. I would bet that if you dug deep enough, you would find the fingerprints of the motorcycle industry all over MB legislation.

In other words... I would bet $$$ to anybody willing to prove me wrong that almost all of the MB legislation is BS. Driven by the economic agenda of the motorcycle industry, the EPA, or random gruesome accidents that make it to the forefront of local public attention.

If the homosexual movement, and just about every other "minority", can march to the white house and demand legislation... why cant we????

Psycho, I dont think you should put down what plinko said.... it is the American way, and if we dont speak up our already shrinking pool of rights could dry up altogether. Then what do you do??? Buy a motorcycle/insurance/registration????

I bet if they put a national ban on anything garage built, under 60cc, single speed, and w/out turn signals.... plinko wouldn't sound so crazy.
