Hi I live in Toronto, Canada and for the past few days have been pretty hands with the with 80cc engine. I changed the sprocket to a 36T and after a lots of pain i got the chain on it properly without falling off. I have an issue.

Suddenly there's no tension in the throttle cable. The cable that goes in the carb should have tension in a way that when you pull it and release, it should go back in. the engine was revving too high so I opened up the carb cable assembly and put it back in and I've lost the tension in the cable.

I have taken a look at the manual and have followed all the instructions. I got the bike built from someone so I am not the most experienced. any help would be really appreciated

Thanks,
Asfaz

I've able to fix part of the problem. the brass barrel wasn't seated in properly so now if I yank up the throttle cable and release it will pull it back in. however if I grab the other end of the throttle cable (the which connects to the throttle handle) it is very very tough to pull the cable and with the throttle handle on it appears to be jammed. any toughts on what may be causing this? faulty cable? please advise thanks much

I would take apart the throttle/kill switch housing. The end of the cable could have come out of its little spot and jammed itself somewhere in there.

Also make sure that the cable routing has no sharp bends or kinks. These cables hate sharp corners and will bind up internally.

i've had bad experiences with the throttle handles. the part which holds the end of the throttle cable is the culprit. anyone know where I can find quality handles? sick bikeparts does not have any. i will keep you update of the status. i tried tinkering with it more last night, so I guess I need to change the throttle cable.
