I'm from Coconut Creek, but never got or ever wanted to tag my ride. You must be talking about someone else.

My statements were directed at SANGESF.

Caught my pant leg in the chain today.

YOU built it ..ride that thing..be respectful, wave to the cops ,wear a helmet,watch your speed ,you will probably be all right..i have never been stopped in over a year and 450 miles..ride at night you will get stopped if no tail light or small headlight or riding in a bad section of town...

The definition of bicycle under s. 316.003(2), F.S., includes motorized bicycles. Bicycles are not registered or titled. Engine kits for bicycles are not new and there are a variety of kits available, however, they remain bicycles after the engine kit is installed. There are other requirements that must be met to be classified as a motorcycle/scooter/moped such as frame assembly and safety features. If a customer brings in paperwork for a bicycle, they cannot be legally issued a title or registration nor is it required. The agent should also direct the customer to law enforcement if there are any questions as to where the motorized bicycle can be used.

I was out for a cruise and came to an intersection where road construction required sheriff's traffic control.When I was waiting to be directed through the officer came over and said,let me guess you do'nt have a DL.I said,no I do'nt,do you need one if the motor's under 49cc.He said that you've attached a motor and gas tank to a bicycle so now it's a moped.Fortunately he let me pedal home,or at least out of his sight.And about a month later I found the current statute that was added on (03/16/10).The one I previously posted.The whole theme of the legality issues of MB's should be Dazed and Confused.

You have to understand the difference between....

Driver's License....

Registration.....


For a GAS POWERED BICYCLE... you NEED a DRIVER'S LICENSE....


For a GAS POWERED BICYCLE... you can NOT get it Registered.




Those are two totally different statutes....

I've said it a BILLION times....

In terms of Driver's License Statutes.... A GAS POWERED BICYCE IS A MOPED


In terms of Registration Statutes... A GAS POWERED BICYCLE CAN NOT BE REGISTERED>


PLEASE UNDERSTAND THE DIFFERENCES BETWEEN TWO DIFFERENT LAWS.

Did you see my "thank you post" to you re: tags?
Thank you for sharing your info. a while back.

Sangesf is in the naysayers camp on tags.

You proved him wrong.

And I proved him wrong TOO as of last month!

He wants actual proof, and I dont have to prove ANYTHING to him.
I know I've gotten my tag DONE as of last month, June 2010
---> NOT "couldnt be done", not used to be able to be done.

Sangesf, tags were done, and it was recently DONE too.

If you dont know, now you know.

Sangesf, you are losing/have lost your credibility posting here as far as I am concerned.
