I Scored A Trike!

This isn't the one pictured above.

It is made of 1" steel tube and I have no idea what engine is on it. Need some help on that. The output on the muffler is about the size of a lead pencil! That will have to go!

Wait.

You were shown the first pic, and then sold the bike in the second pic ?

Happy Time!

That is a Chinese "Happy Time" engine.

Yes, you need more braking power.:geek:

Looks like a decent bike so far.
I agree with the carb problem, it's a no go as it sits right now.
The engine chain tensioner should ride against the lower chain run though. That does not look like an easy fix since it is welded in place.
I would concoct a spring loaded device using the existing tensioner mount, applying pressure to the lower chain run.

In the add on Craigslist she had a pic of her setting on this bike. But it didn't show much so she got a web pic to show it was a trike.

Ah. Ok. That works.

Looks kind of rusty and patched, for 'new', though.

The woman is a few bricks short of a full load if you know what I mean. She had it parked outside uncovered. Lots of rain fell on it. It would be an insult to rednecks to call her one!

Can anyone point me to a place to get a pull starter? I found a site that is out of them but that doesn't help much.

Sounds like she would fit right in, in most of my community.

;)

If you have not started it yet, I would wait on getting a pull starter. You might get a friend to help and get it started by pedaling. That way you save a little on shipping if you have to order more parts. (These motors are not fond of the rain.)

If you are going to be riding it in the rain, you need to thoroughly seal the magneto compartment. Use silicone sealant where the wires exit the engine case. Work the wires in and out if the plastic grommet to work the silicone into the hole as well as where the wires exit out of the cloth tube. Seal that whole area very well.
Also lightly silicone both sides of the gasket that seals between the magneto cover and engine case.
