At this point, It will remain the way it is until I get the itch to break it down again...But even then, I will have it done professionally (Not a rattle can job).

I purchased a lot of old store stock at an estate auction, and there was 2 brand new soft-ride suspension necks/stems in the box I won for $15.00 !
The retail on the outside box/packaging was over $250.00 !
One of the neck/stems was for a threadless fork, and the other was for a threaded (the one installed on my bike).
I had never heard about these, and never knew it was an option when I was sourcing out a suspension fork. I'm glad I found one of these before I purchased one...It works really good!
The bad news is, I don't have a clue as to where one could just be purchased, Even at full retail...I don't know if the company that made these exists anymore??? I sold the Threadless one on eBay for $89.99 a couple months ago, and the guy that bought it raved about how well it works mountain biking...So maybe its a mountain bike part? The best place to look for new, or used would probably be eBay I'm guessing (The brand name is Softride, or Soft Ride, and they refer to them as "Suspension Stem").
This works better than a suspension fork from what I've tested out, and I wish there was a better supply of these available.

I have an idea of how I would like my pipe to be located similar to yours, but I want to rake the actual expansion chamber/muffler to run right along my rear rack. I thought of just getting a piece of copper pipe, and bending it up with some nice curves to get it there in one piece without the elbows/couplings.
I worry about the length being to much for it to work properly though (I heard its supposed to mounted within 6 to 10 inches max from engine mount...I think with the parts included in kit it reaches about 12 or more already!)...I don't want power loss.

I dunno, man... my Huffy Santa Fe is a lot cooler looking than that! lol!! jk... that really is a sharp looking ride. I've never had anybody try and buy one of my rides at a stoplight, so that pretty much settles the debate right there.
I'ma probably need to make you come back my way sooner or later... i'm having no luck at all getting anything to start. I'm getting closer and closer every day to buying a **** moped and calling it quits. All you folks with working MBs which you can put 100's of miles on between major mechanical failures are making me jealous!
