I am going to try to drill a new hole in the front engine mount after one of the studs broke. I couldn't get it out so I impatiently just drilled into the stud and filled the whole thing with JB-Weld. I bought a 6m tap, but I don't know what size drill bit to use for the new hole?

Thanks!

Yeah, I know.... It's the most highly regarded plastic putty in the world.
It has it's merits but I doubt it will hold up to the stresses of a motor mount.
It is a form of plastic after all...
Oh well, it's worth a try. :)

d (tap drill) = D (tap size) - (number 1 divided by # of threads per inch) . You don't give a TPI so we'll use 25 just for illustration purposes . The number 1 divided by 25 equals .040 . The "D" (6 MM) is .236 . Subtract .040 from .236 and you have .196 . That would be your tap drill . Again , with no TPI this is just a way of showing the equation used to determine tap drill size . BTW , I use JB Weld on my Baja Bug .
