Help installing BMP and robin subaru on bike please!

So glad to hear you're enjoying your Robin. I just installed a new Honda 35 on a BMP for testing. Angle is less important on the Honda because of the 'misting' oiling system. But, the clutch is noisier than on the R/S and the Honda's got a belt driven OHC valve arrangement. Don't know how it'll hold up. I've spoke to James at BMP and he favors the R/S over the Honda. They just run like a Swiss watch!

I recently bough a BMP friction drive kit and installed it with a Tanaka PF-4000 2 cycle engine.
Let me tell you, I love it!
It runs great. All the little kids' eyes bug out, their jaws drop and they all point at me when I ride by!
I think the engine is a little noisy though, and will switch over to a Robin/Subaru EH035 4 cycle engine very soon.

rohmell,
I got the Subaru Robin E035 but think I may want to try out the Tanaka or a GP460. Let me know if you want to sell your Tanaka?

I installed a muffler that is designed for the TC-4700 and it quieted the engine to a very acceptable level.

I think the BMP kit (if they are still available) and the Robin-Suburu engine are the best way to motorize any bike they will fit on. I love friction drive, it's only issue is wet roads. I have an old '70s model Solex that I have ridden thousands of miles. Properly adjusted,, excess tire wear is practically non existent, and they is very little to break.

I would like to experiment with some other drive systems, perhaps even an HT engine, but for dependability and daily use, I just don't see how you can beat the BMP/Robin-Subaru setup. Jerry.
