The words got around that Bobby is the man to see when you need help with your ICE bike , at first I took it as a challenge to set em right , then I got deeper fixing the terrible ways some stuffed up their builds .

I'd make them a chain tensioner using springs from old beds to trampolines & fit hard rubber stops under the clutch covers to stop chain lock ups , I'd true their back sprocket & fit a stopper to keep the motor from twisting to the left under engine torch etc etc...

Don't want to charge any money' just can't understand why its so hard for so many ? I,m tired , do you think me selfish to say ( no more sorry ).

Bobby :sad3:

Start charging for your labor, below minimum wage. You WILL lose most of your "customers".

If ya don't want money, barter with them. Both of you might feel better about your relationship.

Better yet, teach them how to fix their own bike.

Look over their shoulder and advise them, while THEY turn the wrenches.

Teaching them these valuable skills will boost their self-confidence.

Soon, Bobby will NOT be THE MAN , the go-to guy. Someone else will be!

Guys,

The simple fact is, many people in this world aren't suited to be builders of anything. They are consumers but have never took tool in hand to create an idea, to breathe life into the parts and bits and pieces of raw material that come alive with the touch of the skilled hand. I know that many of you, like me can and do build our machines in our minds eye, over and over again, before ever putting tool to metal. We can see the three dimensional machine from any angle, in our head but not everyone has the gift.

Guess what I'm saying is, there will always be those that need help and when called upon, we will always give that help. We have a gift that isn't ours but on loan from Another and we have an obligation to share.

I'm just OK. I can usually purchase unbuilt things like MB motors, Vehicle Hydrogen Generators, Am handy at building furniture, and around the house, even with electronics to a small degree, but rebuilding motors and clutches, etc. like really advanced stuff, I neither have the patience or the desire. If, I loved clutches, I know I could learn. But I hate intricate rebuilds way more than I love MB's. And I like MB's a whole bunch.

Maybe these people hate builds more than they love MB's. Or Maybe, as was mentioned, They just suck at building things.

Some people have it and some don't. It's as simple as that. My son is a perfect example. He lives in a throw away world. If it doesn't work, throw it out or get dad to fix it. I really believe he doesn't know which end of a screw driver to hold... I don't mind helping a few people but it can feel like I'm being taken advantage of.

Font take time out of what you usually do to help them, tell them to come over at a time to suit you not them, that way you'll feel better about doing it because you know youve got nothing better to do.
