.. and wow what a nice difference. I made it out of aluminum and made my own aluminum threaded "peg".

I would make it differently next time (peg is a bit too tall....) but it seems to work like everyone who has one says.

Great idea whoever came up with it !!

I believe that the credit goes to Large Philipino.......
However, your set up is an improvement on the ones I have seen. Good Job!

Very good, as far as the peg, that is why I braze a 10mm nut because of the low profile of the pulley, and as far as I know yes, Large Filipino gets the credit, he came up with it as far as I know and I took it from there.

Well done. I have also seen members use the cable elbow from a v brake.

Maybe I should rephrase....the improvement I see is that it is easier to make. Not everyone has access to brazing/welding equipment.

I tried that first, but looking at it I couldn't get a smooth curve even with cutting with the V Brakes I had.

I couldn't ride today as it was raining  so I spent the time cleaning up what I kinda just made and slapped on as soon as I could so I could try it out yesterday. Fixed the problem with my peg being too high, cleaned up the edge's etc and painted it and also sanded off the top section of the clutch cover so it wouldnt interfere.

I made my peg on a lathe and it require's a 6mm tap and 6mm die. Brazing is easier.

True.

Here are the innard's of my V-Brake Elbow.

Happy side effect of trying it out rather than making the roller was I will be using the rubber boot to keep crud out of the cable housing and a bit of the plastic guide to help prevent cable rub where it exits housing.

Once I get it put together and on my bike I'll post a new picture.
