need help, clueless

That engine you inquired about is 80cc. I'd be willing to bet it's illegal in all 50 states for use on public property. Again, do your research, not only on bikes and engines and your local state laws. Then if you choose to break those laws, don't whine and complain when you get into trouble with your local law enforcement. Not meaning to be a smart a$$ here. Just trying to steer a neewbe in the right direction. There are a lot of folks on this forum that run those 80cc engines. But, people break the laws of the land everyday ! As far as the coaster brake, I won't say remove it if it will work with the kit, but I would definitely add front and rear hand breaks if that bike comes with mounting tabs/lugs aready on it.

Contact this member i(cspaur13) if he's still around on this forum. I used to talk to him a lot. He's about 15 or 16 years old, pretty level headed and pretty sharp about these motorized bikes. He had a Delmar with the type of kit you're asking about. He can probably give you some good info on that particular bike. Hope this helps.

I agree with the Porkchop.... the more brakes the better I say!

bike stuff

Yea man im actually building on a similar frame. you said something earlier about spray paint? in order to successfully prime and paint this frame you would have to strip it first and there would be a ton of work involved. I would try to find a similar bike in the color you are looking for.

I have been running a coaster brake in back with vbrakes in front for 9 months in Boston and smooth sailing. Plenty of stopping power. Once they wear in they actually work pretty well.
