loctite "bikeguy joe please"

You don't use loctite to fix the threads. This is what I've used on all of my engines for a while http://www.timesert.com/ In fact, my knucklehead brother in law dropped my bike on his last ride and sheared the two front mount bolts. I couldn't extract the bolts and drilled them out and inserted timesert thread repair and it is GOOD AS NEW now. MUCH EASIER THAN HELICOILS I think.

BTW, I use RED LOCTITE on every part of my bike. If I need to remove something, some heat from my torch and/or heat gun is all I need to break the torque. Blue is too weak for me.

I want to make it clear.....the adhesive thread repair products (IMHO) are inferior to the one mentioned here. I am only making the point that when you hear "loctite" do not think that it is only a thread locker.
