Hello.

I am an "un-retired" man of many trades, I owned and operated a body shop for 10 years from 1968 to 1978, taught auto body repair at a community college for 13 years, left teaching to pursue a career in retail art and custom framing. I owned 2 art galleries up in the Midwest and one down here on the Panhandle. I lost my business in 2004 to Hurricane Ivan and so became an employee of another couple of art galleries up until I was laid off in 2008 during the beginning of the economy slump. I was old enough to retire and did so until the boredom of not having much to occupy me along the creative lines and also a unique random opportunity came my way. Now I am doing antique clock repair and loving the challenge and the precision of the work! My mentor is a master repairman with over 60 years in clock and watch repair. He is now in his 80's, still working full time and he wants to retire and travel while his wife (who is a young 81) can still manage to do trips!!

I happened upon a classified ad this morning for a motorized Schwinn beach cruiser and decided to do some research into motorized bikes. That led me to this forum and my first post here in the introduction area.

That's my story ................... and I'm stickin' to it no matter what anyone says!!

All I can say is that I will be expecting something pretty darn magnificent from some one with your background.....and that's my story, and I'm sticking to it like a fly on a... a....well you know.

Denny,

I'm gonna take a wild guess and say "a fly on a moose marble"!! :poop:

Well, for starters, would you like to hear about my aborted trip to Alaska in 1968?

I have absolutely no knowledge of motorized bikes, the likes of which y'all are delving into on this forum, so I will have to either wing that one or just sit back and take copious notes!

well clock guy i dont know floridas laws but you might wanna check in to tags for it when you purchase one or build it a lot of state are picky of what is on theyre streets new york its illegal to ride they will arrest you and then there are some states that dont give a rats but. Anyway welcome and hold on it's gonna be a fun ride..,............

Heh heh, Moose marble....I'll have to check with Bullwinkle. I think everybody has an aborted Alaskan trip in their history. You must be as old as I am if yours was in 1968. I may have to check out Florida next. Fella from Tennessee came up about six years ago, worked for me for about 2 years, and went to Florida. Guess he wanted to work in a fish market. Must like it, haven't heard from him since. Nice guy, but not a carpenter....lucky to read a tape within an inch. Used to give him measurements in so many big lines, and so many little lines. Not clockmaker material I don't think.
