My friend sold a motorized bike with fake pedals but the police pulled him over and said pedals or no pedals I.C.B.C. ( insurance corporation of british columbia) has now outlawed them.He was told not to be seen again !!
Apparently he was wearing a reflective vest and helmet and doing everything according to law. I still will drive till i get caught!!

Robin, I've been preaching that since I got here. Your friend was lucky that he didn't get the full whammy from the police.

Motorized bikes are not legal in Canada unless they are electric. Period.

Steve.

Maybe it was the noise. I have toned down the sound of my exhaust by running a longer tube with my modified muffler.. Heh, it has a nice sound, and sometimes, if I add a bit of extra oil, my bike can make some nice smoke rings!

sounds like just one more stupid law that needs changing. I guess all you can
do is complain to those in gov. that are supposed to represent you and hope
they'll change the law. Of course fuel taxes pay these guys' salaries, but
maybe they'll do something when it reaches $3 a liter.

Have to agree with Eddy, at least the police gave him a break. The real problem is who passed the law, and why. Guess in the public's eye, mb's are evil.

Kind of makes me glad to be as old as I am. Life is getting more restrictive every day. Don't really want to know where this trend ends up.

wonders what a cop would say to a electric bike powered by a small gas generator---legal or no under canadian law-----lol---bit of an anarchist i am--be interesting to see that one argued in court
