still debating about the sissy bar. Tall or short? I might make an identical looking bike with drag bars and regular seat too....Grrrrrr decisions decisions

Now thats some old school material...It really brings back fond memories for me...
As a kid i liked my old cantilevered bike frame, but all my friends had 20" high rise bikes like the Raleigh chopper and Schwinn Orange crate, but since i was a big kid and we didn't have the money to go for a snazzy new bike i improvised a bike that looked very much like yours.
They didnt make those cool bent high rise ape bars at the time (late 60s) But we always used what we had... i used normal high risers and i to had a sissy bar and banana seat. It way WAY more comfortable on long rides.
I had a Old Sturmy archer 3 speed rear hub and good for the time heavy duty side pull brakes on a Schwinn canti frame, red and white with those huge fenders... it was the first bike i ever built for my self and i remember it fondly.
I think your bike will make a great build, please feel free to hit me up for advice or directions.
I see it with a round head 48cc China doll engine in silver and a long under slung POO POO style pipe... just a suggestion...

I'm really diggin the dual rear brake set up , i did the same thing!
Dont laugh you guys... it worked!

THANKS!1
I will hit you up, thinking of getting the 48cc skyhawk @ bicycle-engines.com
I think it is a silver slant engine. I will use the stock set up for the break in period and if I REALLY enjoy it i'll add the read hub and brake kit. I will keep a dual brake lever too but might change from 2 rear brakes to one rear and one drum in the front..... it's all up in the air.... thanks again!!!

go for it! it's always nice to see someone else doing something outside the box.
I get tired of seeing the typical mountain bikes and cruisers with engines on them.
mine is a 20", yours looks like a 24" or 26"...but it'll still look cool.

Mine's a 26" typhoon with a 26" on the rear, and a 22" up front.
I like yours too, it looks like a 70's chopper motorcycle!

So what do you guys think?.... tall sissy as is ... or short like a krate's?

Man, now i want to build all kinds of bikes!

I liked the tall sissy bars with a back pad...
I had a metallic green and white Royce Union 20 inch frame with a large metal flake seat and pad...
The plunger sissy bar as well...The banana springer fork looks Perfect.
I'm digging the the straight laced rear wheel...Very cool build, enjoy it!

I dont see it as a big issue, thats one of the slight drawbacks to a springer or girder fork.
The upper and lower pivots relationship to the frame limit steering lock.
As always ride looking about 50 to 100 yards down the road, be aware of tight spots or conditions that might require sudden or sharp maneuvers and it should be fine.
Looking good!
