Hi guys,
I've got a Briggs Quantum 3.5hp push mower engine(converted to horizontal shaft, running nice) and it vibrates like crazy when it starts, I would like to know if it is ok to solid mount it on a bike? will the bike vibrates to pieces? I've read some comments about solid mount, most of it are dealing with 2stroke 80cc stuff. When dealing with 3.5hp engine, wouldn't be better to attach rubber on it? Please let me know what you guys think.
thanks.

I would not solid-mount that engine.

I use swatches of bicycle tire(not tube) to insulate my engine's motor mount.

It works well.

FWIW, you could tune the engine. Maybe that would help it run smoother on start up.

IIRC, the blade of the mower acts as a flywheel.
When that is gone, things might not be balanced properly???
Not sure of a fix, perhaps someone else could make a suggestion?
Good luck

Rubber mount

Could you post a few pictures of your engine mounted?
