O. here is my newest issue. I have no power under load. If i pedal to about 20 or 25 it will go on it's own but no acceleration. Everything was fine and then all of a sudden i started my bike and it's acting like i'm pulling a truck. Now with the clutch pulled it seems to run fine.

I do notice that the compression isn't quite what it used to be. just dragging the bike the back wheel drags a bit then turns the engine. It used to just drag.

any ideas would be helpful.

Could be a number of things, broken rings, blown gasket, incorrect timing, to name a few. Have you done a compression test with a gauge?

No i havent done a compression test at all. If i get a gauge what should the compresion be?

i have been thinking broken ring.

guess i should open it up and look for the obvious.

i was hoping for some kind of " turn this screw" easy fix.

are you leaking oil from the head or lower cyl sleeve gasket? any changes in sound? ie louder? how many miles since last time muffler was burned out?

yes it does leak from the lower cylinder gasket. i put a new set of rings and piston and regained some power.

a simple fix is to just buy a new engine.
you can get a brand new, complete engine with a carb(minus all the little kit parts) for around $80.00.

the leaky lower gasket is;
leaning out your mix
and;
losing valuable fuel/air mixture to the atmosphere...where it does nothing for power production! fix it! now! and use a new head gasket at the same time!

what oil ratio have you been running? too much oil replces vital fuel, and doesnt do much for producing power, as well as simultaneously leaning out the mixture. it also tends to clog up ring grooves...that require complete cleanliness to work!

too little oil and the bore could have "glazed". you will sieze a piston by running too lean/hot, you will sieze a bearing by inadequate lube...

check plug gap...

what else?

clean carb. could just be a blockage :)

replacing the engine is myyyyy advice usually! :p
